With Boxcar's blessing it's time to start a new thread for 2006 events and drives While some are scheduled in advance and more organized, lots of others are impromptu phone calls or emails to fellow members to help with install projects or just get together and hang out awhile.

-01 RCCAZ The 26th Annual Southwest Unique Little Car Meet, Holiday Inn Palo Verde, 4550 S. Palo Verde Blvd, Tucson, AZ. Glenn Roberts will have his R360 there and this will also be the first showing of his 1967 Cosmo Sport 110S since he purchased it more than a month ago. Meet in Ahwatukee at a time to be announced and cruise to Tucson for the show. Option to head over to Jarrett May’s house for a welcome home party following the show, or head back to Phoenix depending on time (organizer T. Eull).

-12-13 RCCAZ GT LIVE at PIR - Two days of the hottest action imaginable. http://www.gtlivetour.com/, Spectator autocross, rides in GT cars, Car Club corrals, you name it. It will be a weekend that you won’t want to miss. Several other RX members from the So Cal area and surrounding states are already cuing up to attend. We will be organizing a club corral with discounted tickets, so check with us before you purchase tickets (organizers T. Eull and D. Hume).

-24thAZMazdaClub.com event: Avondale Mazda is one of the supporting hosts of the Speed World Midnight Run. On Saturdays Avondale has somewhat of an customer appreciation day. The dealership is moving in a different direction than most. They are all for car clubs. I talked with Xavier, the manager and he would be more than happy to have us out there on Saturday the 24th for lunch , his treat. More details and sign up list are on Page 11

-14th Hot Import Nights - (post copied from brokenman) ==>In case you all haven't seen it, AZMC is doing HIN on October 14th. RX8 wise, Jeff, Todd and Mac's cars will be out there. Any other 8s, I know there are some awesome ones.

Avondale Mazda is reimbursing us for our entry fees and HIN has allowed us to do a Saturday roll-in with no extra fee. On the downside for some of us, something other than stock wheels are required. Painted stock wheels, stock wheels from another Mazda or something to that effect are ok, so come on out!

And if you're not interested in showing we'd still love to have you to come out and see all the cars, the show is from 4-11PM!

For those of you that dont know...there is a big show and race event coming up at Firebird Raceway Mar 18th-19th- NOPI. It is a 2 day event and is a blast, its from 10am-11pm Saturday and from 10am-5pm Sunday. Of course I (AZ-RX8U aka Mac) will be there in the show and will need some support, it appears I'm in one of the toughest classes that includes RX8's, RX-7's, Supra's, 350Z's, G35's and Skylines. It's at Peoria Sports Complex (83rd AVe South of Bell), there is no pre-registering, just $20 when you get there.

East siders- Meet at Fry's electronics parking lot in Tempe/ South Mountain at 6:45am, departing NLT 7am. Fry's is on teh north side of Baseline just west of
I-10.

Can someone from eth West Valley cooridinate a meet for that side and we will meet you there...say around 7:30-7:45 or so, then we ALL (All Mazdas) can drive out and enter together. Pool? 09? Boxcar (you still alive?)

Alas, only in spirit. I've been traveling (Denver, DC, Ecuador, Denmark) the last two weeks and I won't be back in Phoenix until Tuesday.

I only have to go back to DC one more time on the 22nd, and then I can finally start enjoying my new home....
