If you look about 2-3 posts up that was just brought up. I think there are a few members in the Bay that AutoX, so that won't work for them. We'll just stick to the the August date. Once everything is finalized, I'll invite the dc5 boys and some others out.

Personally I'm not in favor of a group drive because there tends to be one ******* who drives faster which tempts others to driver over their limits. Once it starts it's a vicious cycle. And if I were in a group drive, I'd probably be that *******. :D Better to avoid temptation than resist it.

PurNrg,
For the group drives I've participated in I didn't feel like any of the 8 drivers were that 'ah'. The only time I thought anyone was completely nuts was when we went with the BMW guy, he was nuts!!! I do understand what you're saying but other than that one time I have not felt pressured or tempted to do anything illegal (cross double yellow lines) or drive any differently than I would if I were on that same road alone. The 8 guys seem to be pretty level headed. I'm also not going to wreck my car trying to keep up or drive like someone else and have no problem being the last car in line if that is where I feel like I can drive the way I want to drive. Maybe I don't feel pressured because I'm a female and don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone? I don't know, I guess I'm still getting used to the limits of the car as well and don't want to do anything to hurt my beautiful black beauty. :D I don't even want to do the Autox because I would hate to run over an orange cone and get it stuck under my car!!!

Yes, it would be nice if the mods could make this a sticky...hint hint. I guess I'm in charge, but I'm definitely open to help and suggestions. I've been to plenty of bbq's, but I've never been to Treasure Island. And with no knowledge of if you need to rent space, or bring your own bbq pit, its a little hard. I did do a few searches today, and it doesn't seem like you have to rent any space, but I'm really not sure. Anyone know about this? Maybe I'll take a drive over there in the next week or so if I have time, just to get familiar with the place. I'm hoping to plan it out as best as possible, so that we can get loads of people there, and have all types of different cars, not just 8s. I have a dream....

Team Integra has their BBQ there annually for the NorCal and SoCal members. I went with Team Integra in 2003 for the first one and it was freaking awesome. Treasure Island has BBQ pits, I don't know if they are still there. I will take picture tomorrow so you can see how big it is, as well if I can find the pcitures back from 2003 I will post them so you guys can get an Idea of it.
I will get other info as well to see if we have to schedule with the Park Police or what ever that is on the island. I know last time SFPD rolled up on us a bunch of times to make sure we were behaving ourselves. They frown on burn out and such so don't do it. We had some guy in a 240SX last time come and do donuts in the parking lot and PD came and told us to knock it off or get kicked out.

Moostafa,
I would be happy to help you out in any way (after 4th of July weekend). Let me know or PM me. I've never been to TI for a picnic/BBQ so anything other than answering questions about it!!!!

Moostafa,
TheDosDog and I went down to TI this afternoon and scoped out 2 spots.
We think the Proposed Spot is plenty big for all rx-8's and any other car clubs that may want to join in. There's plenty of parking here and lots of grass to toss the frisbee/football around. The drawbacks: We will have to bring our own grills and blankets to sit and lay down on the grass.
The Secondary Spot does have grills and tables but only space for about 10 cars.
Take a look at the map for reference. Let's make a decision on where we want to meet and then make plans on what type of gear each person plans on bringing...
We also have pictures of the Proposed Spot to help in the decision making. I don't have my camera on me so I'll post those pics later.
