Does anyone know if you have to make reservations, or just show up?

At the Burlingame Go Kart place, you just show up. You can make reservations but you have to pay up front...

Repeat after me, "we are not in LA" "we are not in LA" "we are not in LA". LA is the only place I know where people say "the" before a highway number. Please god, let it not move up here.

Guys, if you'd like I know of a great place to meet up and go for a drive. My other hobby is motorcycling so I know where we can go find the twisties.

I wouldn't mind setting something up. Let me know. Check my sig pic for a hint

How long have you been in the Bay? People here always say that.

No, people from So Cal that are up here say "the" before the freeway. That is gramtically incorrect. 101, 280, 85 are the names of the freeway, when you talk with someone do you go "Hey the Chris, how was your day today?"

Nope.

I understand what you are saying as far as it being gramatically incorrect, but that doesn't mean it still doesn't occur. I hear it all the time from people that have been here their entire lives. I've been here my entire life, and say it all the time.

Oh, and if any So. Cal people are reading this, I have one thing to say...."HELLA". I know how much you all love that word!

I've been in the Bay Area since 1976. When I travel to LA (or watch TV), they talk about "the 101". I have never heard a traffic report here, for example, talk about "the 101", just "Highway 101" or "101".

1976? I wasn't even thought of then Maybe a lot of people from LA have migrated up here, and I just know their children? Who knows, anyway...enough of this!

Both LeMans and GoKartRacer have "real" karts. They aren't shifters but you don't need that extra speed--if you can spin out in a turn then the kart is fast enough for the course.

I've been a regular customer at LeMans but they recently repaved and the course is too slippery. Burlingame is farther for me but it's definitely a better track--both of 'em. An added bonus is they have a cafe area where you can sit, watch the karts through glass windows (no fumes) and chat.

When did they repave Lemans? I drove there last in August. Didn't like the layout. Too wide open.
