Just got back from an oil change on the rx. They flashed the memory that fixed a lack of power. Apparently there was a recall. I didn't receive anything in the mail. I know the last car I owned they sent out recall notices. Is it different now? Did any of you have this flash done?

Dear Guys,

So I'm finally able to write a letter! It only took 2.5 weeks. So I'm sittingi n my bed writing after lights out with a flashlight. I miss the life I had out there. It hit me a few days ago that everything will be different when I get out. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get stationed at Travis.

At any rate, right after BMT I go straight o my technical school. So that'll be another few months before I'm able to make it back. I think about you guys a lot, and I really really miss my car.

Life here isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The food is ******* amazing, and once you learn how to eat fast enough you end up being full after every meal. The PT isn't that bad either. We alternate between running and strength training with a day free on Sunday. They have a church here too. I go to the Buddhist service.

I found that I am a complete bad *** when it comes to rolling shirts, which is one of the hardest things to do. I get along really well with my flight, although there are a lot of stupid poeple here. Getting yelled at isn't that bad either. It rarely happens to me because either I don't **** up, or somebody ***** up before I do. 80% of what they do is mental.

I can honestly say that I am having a good time here. Of course I still miss the hell out of the Bay, but life here is not bad.

So far I've seen 3 Rx8's. A WB, LY and a Shinka. The yellow one is always parked by the PT field so it makes me feel good when I run past it.

Did I mention that the food is great? I'm not kidding. It's free and it's great quality food. It's incredibly easy to be vegan here too. I eat a lot of rice and beans, with bread and fruit.

It's been cool getting to know the other guys in my flight. I know I'll keep in contact with a few of them after we graduate. Eventually we get base lib, which will let me walk aroundt he base by myself. I know the library here has internet access, so hopefully at some point I'll be able to get on and write some messages.

I totally forgot to pay all my bills before I left, so I'm gonna be in deep **** when I get out. I get **** pay here too. After I graduate tech shcool, I'll get step-promoted to E-3. I think that I'll make about $1600/mo. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I won't have to pay for rent, food, gas, or clothes. It will pretty much all go into my pocket.I know that I'll be able to rank up quickly, after seeing how useless most of the people around here are.

The payment that I get morally is well worth it thougg. I feel very proud to know that I'm willing to lay my life down to protect the freedoms of all of you. My dad is incredibly proud too. I'm very happy that I made this decision. I have quite a few letters to write but hopefully I'll get a chance to write again. By the way, I can receive mail too, so feel free to write me using the return address on the envelope. I miss you all a lot.

Memories! I still remember my first day in Basic Training. The training instructor was a loud mouth, 5'2" skinny dude. On the first day, they played a lot of mind games--for example they gave us a keychain to place around our neck. Then, they instructed everyone to unlock the bottom locker drawers with they key on the keychain. The keychain was short so you're compelled to remove it around your neck, as opposed to squatting low. People that removed the keychain around their neck got in trouble; but since the whole "Flight" was a "team", we were all punished so the next mind game was they made us read the military drill manaul over and over , while playing Whiteney Houstons song "Greatest Love of All" over and over for 8 hours (I was next to the clock).

I still remember my first bi-weekly paycheck...$200.00 Jeez, most people make that in a day now.

That was 22 years ago, and it has left an impression on me. **** and I just turned 17. Goddamn military.

3) I got in trouble on my first confession because I made a comment that was raunchier than #2 above. I was only 8 years old, and I did it out of spite towards religion.

I don't want to argue because it is stupid. I like you as a friend. I don't mean to bug you if you interpet my questions/comments as that way. There are somethings I don't know and need to ask for clarification on so I know what is being said. Sometimes I feel out of the loop. You all have known each other longer than I have you all. This is a fun group to hang out with and I like you all as friends.
