Just be genuine and don't try to screw people and everything will be good, also you might want to tone down the drama factor a bit, but we havent hung out in a long time, maybe you've changed

what drama factor was there? haha, i remember just being angry about one incident and that was it. whatever though, i mean, from what i remember, things where cool last time i saw you guys unless i was jus oblivious to everything that happened

**** happens, life happens and everyones tolerance is a little different, the main thing is that even though we're just a car club, theres more to it cause we end up becoming friends, and i've been genuine, or i feel i've been, not everyone has thick skin

anyways, dont forget to look into the new thread that i started, lets try to get more meets/get togethers/ hang-outs again, maybe ill plan a large event if the rx7club guys dont for the summer/end of summer.

I guess there's no gathering tonight. Have a good memorial weekend. s2k group is going to Big Sur this Sunday so that should be fun.

Go CIT and CNB.... I'll day trade my way out of this recession.

So what's your lead at SLAC in Palo Alto? I have an MS in Physics, so that should mean something?

Rob

MS in physics can do a lot, i'll go talk to the hiring committee sometime this week and see what openings they have available. Many of my friends have a BS for Electrical engineering and trying to get them a job there, should be easier with a MS in physics cause you're not going to be in the same department as them. Many electrical engineers out there, not many physicist

sorry zach, when the bug bites, it bites hard, plus its been a while. how has the meets been? everytime i pass by union landing, rarely see anyone there but i know you guys do many other things to accommodate many of them members.

maybe i just miss you guys

forgot to add, if i'm stepping out of place for starting meets again, please let me know. i'm in no way trying to cause drama for anyone, just trying to get 8 members together once again like many years ago. if this bothers anyone, please let me know, i'll admit to being a little sensitive to criticism, but i rather hear/read it straight up.

Hey, I got back my RX-8. Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Anyway, I've been reading on the forum about the high RPM shifting from 3 to 4 grinding problem, and I do get that.

I'll take it to the dealer and see if they can fix this under warranty. I hope they don't deny my warranty because I have aftermarket clutch and flywheel.

It's getting progressively worse. It happens if you shift from @ 6000rpms or higher from 3 to 4.

It was intermittent before my friend borrowed it. Now it happens everytime, maybe after 12k miles in four months, the problem became worse.

It wasn't worth it having her take over payments for four months. She doesn't know how to handle rotaries. Three times the oil was low. When I picked it up, I had to dump an entire quart of oil and it barely got to the first mark on the dip stick. I hope she didn't drive it like that for a while and I hope she didn't damage the engine. What's fu#k up about it is that her boy friend is a fukking Mazda mechanic, wtf????

I'll have Rotorsport check it out tomorrow.
Well, lesson learned:
1) 12k extra miles on car
2) Possible engine damage
3) New tires needed.

Not worth it.

Did you ever install the turbo? I'm thinking of getting Pettit or Mazdatrix.

That sucks hope you still have warranty! I had my tranny replaced under warranty back when I had 17,000 miles because going from 1st to 2nd at 7,000 RPM was near impossible due to grinding and not being able to engage. It was also near impossible to downshift from 3rd to 2nd while going 20 MPH. Also occasionally the shifter would get stuck in neutral and wont engage 1st gear, 2nd gear, and reverse. The car was hard as hell to drive, so I brought it to the dealer 4 times until they finally decided to replace the tranny. They found out that 4 syncros were busted in the tranny.

I am not trying to scare you, but just wanted to let you know the symptoms and problems which I went through with the tranny, so maybe you get an idea of what is happening to yours.

For the turbo its still laying here... I am debating if I should install it or sell it. I might just keep it NA or maybe even sell the 8. But we'll see about that since I am not sure yet. And if I decide to install it, I should have it on the 8 in about a month or two.

You have made a good choice to take the supercharger route for reliability. I was seriously considering this route also, but turbo was cheaper... lol

Good luck!

By the way you guys should come out to the Daly City meet on the 13th!

I'm bringing it in tomorrow at 9:30am. It's under warranty and the manager said it doesn't matter about the aftermarket clutch and flywheel. I wonder if they'll use a 2009 tranny.
