I had the the code p0302 which was the 2nd cylinder misfire. My CEL was on and it blinks everytime I go past 6k rpm. I brought the car into the dealer and they replaced the coils, spark plugs, and ignition wires, but problem was not resolved. They were not able to find out the exact problem and the car actually felt fine. The problem existed for over 2 weeks, but the funny thing was it disappeared after I did 2-3 ECU reset, by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, then tapping on the brakes 20 times. The problem never came back...
You can try to replace the ignition stuff and reset the ECU. After you reset it, try to bring the rpm up to like 6k (slowly) and see if the problem still exists. If not then go a little higher and push it slightly more... try that a couple of times and if the problem comes back, reset the ECU again and redo the test it. And this this comes back after like 3-4 ECU resets, I suggest you to do further diagnostics at some rotary specialists.
Warning: This is just my suggestion and I am not responsible for any damage. (just want to help by throwing out something I tried before, so do this at your own risk)

The company is in a small niche market for the Military. They work on developing materials that pertains to detection systems. My position is going to be an R&D Engineer. I like the job itself. It's -25% less than the average engineering salary, but it's better than the unemployment check, and I get to get back to doing Physics. I was getting ready to go back to OSU to do something similar and get my PhD, but this is better having industrial experience.

Sold my old desktop and laptop...
Originally bought a used dell M-90 as a desktop replacement. Turned out to have a defective motherboard
Dell sent out a "equal or better" replacement. Just got it yesterday. Super nice certified refurbished M6300, even used this thing costs about 400 more than the M-90 I bought.
First experience with dell customer service, win
This "business class" laptop also came with a 3 year parts and next business day warranty. Its super fast
Core2 duo T-9300, 2.5ghz
4 gb ram
320gb 7200rpm hd
512mb Nvidia 3600m pciexpress video card
17" WUXGA glossy display (1920x1200)
Comparably heres the specs on the M90 I originally had
Core Duo (1st generation) T7400 - 2.16ghz
2gb ram
100gb 7200rpm hd
512mb 3500m nvidia pciexpress
17" WUXGA matte display (1920x1200)
Over all I am very pleased
what has everyone else been up to? I've been slammed with this summer class...

Interesting dyno results today. We used a dynopack....The s2000 HP curve is much smoother than the rx-8. Peak HP on RX-8 was around 181hp, and the S2000 was at 217hp....wtf? They're both rated similar at the crank.
