I got pulled over way too many times for license plate and loud exhaust... Got sick of it and went back to stock cat and slapped a plate on! Ever since then, I am ticket free!
I got my bracket from Autozone, but it was hanging too low causing the plate to scrape everywhere... I ended making my own bracket with an aluminum plate and part of the bracket which came with the Autozone kit. It now sits a lot higher (flush with the bottom of the bumper) than the autozone version. If we ever meet at a meet I will show you.

2nd- No front plate and tinted windows is a legal reason to pull you over, you just might not like it. However, that is the law and we all have to follow the rules or just except the consiquences.

I am tired of going to meets and having the shittiest looking car because my car is not lowered and looks like a 4by4 offroad vehicle
So, KW V3 Coilovers are expensive but they would be so darn ******* good and cost me my work bonus after taxes,
What would you recommend for shocks/springs with very limited lowering but still good performance.
I am currently thinking of the Koni Sport Shocks w/ undecided springs... everything seems to lower the car so much. Is there a way to just get a 1inch drop and not much more? I heard the konis shocks already lower the car (even though it's just shocks) so tied up with springs...
My use is for street only... don't have the guts to put it on the track though going to skip barber on April 4-5th.. so who knows I might hit the track soon!

@ Highway8, I used to have adjustable tokico D-specs with cables and Tein S-techs. I would recommend the D-specs with cables (front and rear) with your choice of, Racing beat, Tanabe GF or NF? I forgot, Eibach, or Teins H techs.

Tony says, RX8s are GREAT
Tein H is a great hight. Not to much stress on the bushings when you car is lowered, also allows the car enough roll to stay stable at corner entries.
So does anyone here even drive their cars at calaveras, basin, or some windy roads touge style. All I ever see in here is meet and eat. We have RX8's people, not some f-in scion XB's.
Who wants to set up a real meet with some real driving!!!!!!!!!!!!

I go to Skyline Blvd quite often. Depending on how I feel, will go down 84 or keep on going to Page Mill (which is quite twisty) or Saratoga Ave.
But this is during the day time.
There apparently was a Lotus meet this past weekend, because there was about 20 Lotus' lined up on 84 heading from the ocean up to skyline.
Have been to calaveras once, but not at night. Where is the basin you mention?

Basin is 99.
It is best to go at night, you can see headlights comming around blind corners. Calveras is very technical.

So I decided not to do anything to my suspension or get any sway bars. Maybe when my shocks one day decide to not be so good I might get Tokico D-Specs.
But seriously, on stock suspension, you can go through a canyon road at twice the speed limit without breaking a sweat... and go through all the low speed corners with crazy ease thanks to the differential and some throttle... what's the point? Apart from looking nicer, you get a harsher ride, scrape everywhere, less carrying load in the car? and you get higher limits but now you're starting to talk in the 90mph range on some roads... that's insanity that will get you to kill someone, not counting the fact that if you take it a bit farther.. the car will bite you in the *** even more.
I really need to go autocrossing this summer... maybe I'll understand then
Our car just feels so good on canyon roads!
