Where do people like to take their 8's in or near SF? Nothing major, but I don't have the space to work on it.

ALMS at Laguna Seca

Can't go due to previous commitments, but definitely going to Grand Am at Laguna in Sept. They have a Mazda corral in the infield, and (I think) a drive-around the track.

I went to last years Grand AM race and the Mazda corral was a let down. I gave Laguna Seca my $0.02 about it and they said it would be different for mazda owners this year.........well see.

I'm going again this year

Do I see a caravan to GrandAm forming?

Are there any San Francisco shops closer? Unfortunately for me, my 8 won't start again (third time in a year) and Santa Clara is 50 miles from me. I have AAA and they told me they won't tow it that far. I just can't afford to pay for the long tow. The shop I've been taking my 8 to is Fukuda Auto in the city but given that my car has not started three times in one year, I'm thinking he's not able to diagnose the major problems that it has. Would love to hear any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Well, I ended up taking my RX8 to "The Garage" on 10th. I guess they have a Mazda guy there, but this is the first time and I'm not that impressed. I had the clutch pedal bracket failure, and was 99% positive that was the issue (I mean, i heard it crack). But they didn't find it the first time they looked. I had to make them look again.

I used All American Automotive on Harrison before that. They got my brakes done, warned me about a crack in one of my wheels, and were able to tell me that the coolant reservoir light wasn't a big deal. (I'll get it fixed eventually, but for now I need the car back). He also warned me about how they can be prone to flooding and that I should never try to start the car with a low battery. That advice came in handy later when I left my trunk open for 3 days. They did a nice job on my brakes, but their yelp reviews have been slipping lately. Seems some people think they are dishonest. I had a pretty good experience myself. Given that yelp reviews are 90% bs anyways, I'd probably go back there. Only thing is that they charge a storage fee if you don't pick up your car right away.

I'd really like to find a Mazda specialist, though. Other than the dealer. With all the RX8s here, you'd think there'd be one.

I'm know! I'm surprised that there's NO ONE either here or in the East Bay. Seems like Santa Clara is our closest option and like I said, it's 50 miles for me and my tow truck won't go there. I'm going to get my 8 towed to Fukuda Auto again and see what he can do. Seems to be my only option.

If your car sounds like this when it is trying to start, then it means your engine is flooded. This is a video of my ride when I flooded it. How I flooded the car was I started it, moved and turned it off in less the 30sec and the car was not even warmed up. After researching and find a DIY steps, I was able to get the car started without spending $$$. Hope this helps.

www.mrmazda.com in Campbell (I know it's just as far as the Santa Clara guy, but well worth it). Mike Muscara aka Mr. Mazda. I have been taking my Ford Probe GTs (Mazda MX-6s under the skin) to him for almost a decade, and guys in the Probe club recommended him to me in the first place. He himself owns a very sweet black on black mid-90s RX7 and has owned others. That rarity=a truly honest mechanic with integrity. I have tested him, and he won't do unnecessary repairs. He has a small shop and it might take a little longer than at larger ones, but you can be sure it will be done correctly and his prices are fair.

IDK. That's where they want to go. There is a In-N-Out the next block. By the way theres a new movie theater that just open the next block over too. So for those that did not watch the Avengers yet, that was an awesome movie. Cya there.

If you come, I will give you a extra set of coils that I lug around. They are used though but work just as fine. I kinda wished I kept the wires too now. At least your half way there

I got my wires from amazon at a really good price. I looked at a dozen websites and amazon was the cheapest I could find

I want to know if any of you people in the Bay area have been to the Petaluma Speedway, its in the north bay. Just curious, and if so what did you think.
Heres a link:
