You can't get Tokico shocks and coilovers; coilovers are shocks and springs in one package. You can combine Tokico shocks and Racing Beat springs, which is what I plan to go with. If you're really looking for a track setup, coilovers are the way to go. However, if you're on a budget and am looking for performance/daily drive compromise, I'd suggest the RB with Tokicos. Me, I'm tuning for real world roads.
After the tires comes the reliability mods (Mazsport fan mod, grounding kit). After that I'm going to do suspension. I'm starting to debate about what to do with the sway bars. In my opinion I don't really want to drill out for new endlinks and I'm not sure if a significantly stiffer sway setup will net benefits on mountain roads which tend to be rough, but the Mazdaspeed units are too expensive and don't offer much of an improvement.

Now I'm treating my car like the paint is made out of eggshells.
Is it just Mazda paint? Or am I being overly paranoid?
also LionZoo can you post pics of your clearbra? I'm interested in how noticable it is

Sorry I ment, tokico shocks and their adjustable springs kit they have. I have the Rb sways that needed to drill out the holes. It's easy, the ride is alittle bumpier but not bad. It handles like a mad amn though. I have the RB flash, so my fans turn on sooner already. Hey, do you want to get together and make our own grounding kit? It'll be cheaper. I'll see if I can get 2-4 Gauge monster cables at cost still.

We can try, but I'm pretty bad with electrical stuff so I'm not sure how well it would turn out. I know the sways will make the ride slightly harsher over one wheel bump, but that it'll grip better. Remember though, the parameters I'm tuning for are a bit different than normal racetrack tuning. I actually want to keep the car at OEM ride height or just about, which is why I'm considering the Racing Beat springs. It really depends on what you're shooting for; if it's for tracks then definitely go for the coilovers. If it's a milder street setup, you might be better off getting a set of shocks to complement the RB springs. Either way though, I feel shocks are pretty necessary as the OEM units don't have great damping characteristics.

why??? we can be partners in crime! You know more people up here then I do, that's why I still need you helping me make this stuff happen.
Liyan, you're right, I don't thing i'll ever track it, I might just get the RB springs all around and just ride that way, but first I'll have to get the smaller tires. There is a DIY for the ground kit, we'll be fine.

Yeah, I'm just worried the stiffer Racing Beat sways will upset the car over bumps on corner entry or midcorner since some of the roads here aren't exactly that well maintained. By necessity, I need to tune for the worst case. Anyway, good night.
