No, I have S-Techs with D-Specs. I was eyeing coilovers like Dick's just because that freaking controller looks superbad on the center console, plus I think it would go great with the RB gauges. Other than that I was thinking Tein Monotubes or Ohlins (spelling?) Teins mainly for prompt technical support if needed. I think the Ohlins might be lighter and better suited for performance, no controller though and the Teins wouldn't fit on the center console

I'll find out. I bought the rear strut bars for $138.00. It's about the same price as mail order, but you still have to pay freight, so it evens out.

Cusco ftw. Everybody and their mom has the Teins so that turned me off to them. Plus their controller is too large to fit in the radio like I have mine. The Cusco controller is the smallest one available and it fits in there perfectly.

Employee purchase

I'm a part-time Mazda employee so I'm unsure of the limit of employee purchases. The price is cost + 20%.

This is the request so far:

1) little mazdaspeed ****: Rich, Tom
2) mazdaspeed Front STB: David

I think the price will be slightly lower than Arlington Mazda even after tax because of shipping,
i.e. I purchased the rear Mazdaspeed STB:
$138 + $11.39 tax for Employee purchase
$143 + $24.00 freight at Arlington Mazda

Anyway, let's get a list of request and I'll check prices. Hopefully they'll let me order all the parts despite the quantities.

The **** can be dirty, it adds flavor; as long as the stick don't break.

Do you know how much the Ohlins weight, they seem light. I haven't really read up on the PPSI, but I think is pretty high.

I have no idea how much the Ohlins weigh, but I'm sure if you e-mail Brian Goodwin he can tell you. We used Ohlins on our Baja car and those were some really nice dampers with really good damping rates and adjustability, which is why I'm so high on Ohlins as a quality brand.

Is the Ohlins controller green? Or is that the Tein?

Ohlins doesn't make a controller for their coilovers, you're talking about the Teins. Their Monotubes I think should be a few hundred $$ cheaper than Ohlins though.

I am new to the RX8club and I did not know if anyone does track days? If not I was considering putting something togeather at thunderhill raceway, near Willows CA. If I can get 30 people togeather it would be about $250 per person. They provide the insurance, medical standby staff and everything else needed for a fun day at the track. I think they have some time open in December and January. If you have never been to Thunderhill it is a very fun and safe track, several elivation changes, nice turns and 1 good straight away.
