Best driving roads in SoCal?
I'm in OC, and I'm dying to take my 8 out on a twisty road and really have fun. But it's hard to find such a road as most of them have stop signs and stoplights to ruin the fun.
I've heard of Azusa Canyon and I really want to go there but its kinda far from my place.
Are there any good windy roads you guys know of in the OC and LA area?

you wanna have some fun come out to the san bernardino meets or the not so often malibu cruz meets. Take a look at the pictures, see the first post in the san bernardino thread for picture links. there are plenty of twisties through out cali.

I've got the same question: where can I drive?! lol PCH is loaded w/ traffic and cops that's no good. Topanga (sp?) was shweet but again traffic and cops. What/where is "gmr"?
Also is there any place to just go play? I.E. take the car 4 a spin, literally. This is my first RWD car and I havent had a chance to use it to the full extent. Ideally I'd love to to go a drift park or something, if anything like that exsists around here but i guess a biiig unmonitored parking lot will do.
Thanks in advance!

I have a very simple rule for finding twisty roads; if there are tall mountains there are good roads. Have fun. PM me with about where you're located and how far you're willing to drive for roads and I'll give you what I have.

I know where to go!!!!! I have drivin for hours without seeing a cop on my local roads. The roads are twisty, hilly, and you got beautiful scenery for miles in every direction. No traffic either. Maybe a car or two, but they will pull over for you, they understand. Cant find that stuff in the OC. I did 200 miles last weekend with a 7000 foot elevation change and didnt see one cop!!!! I am going out again tomorrow . . I love where I live.
BTW, if you think ortega(74) is a good road , you are sadly mistaken. Bad lanes, bad falls, inset rails, rocks to clip, reverse camber turns!!! And STUPID drivers. For those under the Orange Curtain(OC) however, it is the closest thing they got. You want a REAL road - you gotta drive for a bit.
