Synopsis - Wow this was a good meet!
Just got back from Frisco - Great meet lots of rotars even some 3s. Lots of 7s and some old rotars with wide grills. Many rotars over 30 years old still running and they still looked 'modern'. The paint might be hurting but the the style was still so classic it looked current. Found a blue that matched my own but with more engine modifications. Mom loved it! It was her first car rally, and she was looking in everyone's engine (even those ricer guys wo snuck some piston machines in). Very nice class of people there - As clean and pretty as their cars. Some Asian kids that looked like movie stars. Even another lady driver who made us feel so welcome! Some drifter cars, a caravan from L.A., Magazine guys who took pictures of mom while she told them how her uncle had sworn, more than 80 years ago they would never build a car that could climb a hill!
Also a philosphy expressed that these are really a quiety proud car - restrained like a samari. As one guy put it - a Samari doesn't run around with his sword half out and a sign on it saying folded 2000 times. But if he ever pulls it out, better vacate the premises. Our blue 8, which was being taken on its first long haul worked like a trooper. Got from San Miquel to Frisco on one tank of gas! Needed no extra oil comming or going (we brought 2 bottles of Castrol with us and never had to open them. Car moved when asked to - and there was one real bad place leaving Treasure Island where the road enters the freeway with little warning and there is really constant traffic going over 60 mph - we found a little hole and put it to the floor and we were out alive! Felt sorry for the tow-truck hauling a beautifully modified 7. Wish you had all been there - can't wait to take Mom to another one! Wish you could get a group to head to Paso....Especially in the spring when its green here!

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who came. It was a great showing and I enjoyed meeting some of you.
For the South Bay Area Caravan, it was a pleasure meeting all of you and screw you guys for having me lead when I didn't want to. And why the hell were we going 55 mph on the freeway? I would speed up but no one else would speed up and I'd just pull away!

That's what I'm saying, when I first started leading, we got split up I think at the light so I was going like 65mph but I kept pulling away from the white 7 behind me so I slowed down to 60, still pulling away, slowed down to 55 pulling away just a little and then at 50 they finally started gaining on me. Then about 5-10 miles down the road after everyone got back together and me holding traffic at 50-55mph lol, I finally went up to 65, then 70, and then 75 ish which I thought would be a good cruise speed and by the time I knew it, that white rx7 was about 10-12 lengths behind and he wasn't gaining or trying to speed up so again I had to slow down to 55mph and I was like wtf. Then finally the 8's pulled ahead and went off and I went with them and for a while it was just me and 3-4 8's at 70-75ish and we lost the caravan for a while then everyone started pulling up. Don't know what that what rx-7 was doin lol.
