Can I borrow your "spring compressors" in San Diego?

My left-front Koni is blown. A replacement is on the way, due 6/3/09. I'd like to get it replaced that following weekend (ideally, but you know about best laid plans...).

Does anyone have a set that I can borrow for the job? I live in Mira Mesa.

Rent one from AutoZone, it's pretty much free, all you have to do is pay a deposit to get the spring compressor and you get your deposit back once you return it.

um, I really cant speak for your set up, or specifically what you are doing with the compressors, but I don't know anyone that has gone with aftermarket coilovers on the RX8 that needed spring compressors to remove/install them. I suppose you MIGHT need them to replace a dampener (swap springs), but on my JICs I could easily unspring the springs while maintaining plenty of threads on the perches. Just FYI.

In summary, are you sure you need them?

When people say Koni they usually mean Koni shocks. I don't think Koni coilovers exists for the 8.

In summary, I'm pretty sure he needs them.

Ah, well then. That explains it. Good luck. I have a set but I am near the wrong ocean.

Renesis, I'll check AutoZone. That's cool, I didn't know they'd do that.

Yeah, these are just Koni sport shocks. One day I'll get coilovers...

Thanks again!
