SOOO saturday morning I get up to go run some errands. Go to the car wash to get the 8 beautified and looking good.

Go inside to pay for it... and next thing you know the guy comes in to get me and tells me that my car wont go into gear. WTF?!

I got out to check the car and it is stuck in the "manual drive" mode. (remember i have an AT) but the weirdest part about that is that the car says its in neutral. Car rolls like it is in neutral and not in gear but the shifter is stuck in the drive.

So my first thought.... electrical... pop the hood... unplug the battery. let it sit for about 30 seconds to rest the ECU. Plug her back in and get into the car and turn her on.... Nope... still didnt work. Now by this time im freaking out wondering WTF the car wash did to my car. Key wont come out. Car wont get out of gear and im stranded at the car wash with no money. (i was going to deposit a check after i got it washed.)

So I call AAA... and guess who they send out.... A&E towing... same place the effed up my front bumper the last time i got it towed. But it was a different guy and he was really chill.

Tow it over to the dealership saturday... they tell me they have to check it and see if its under the warranty (which thankfully I still have up until the end of this year or 60k miles... and im sitting at 55k.)

So yah.... They are checking it... i got a mercedes E350 for a rental cos thats all they had and Im waiting to hear back from them today.

my gf got the same problem with her Civic AT tranny

it was stuck in P but the car think it's in N

you don't really need to go to the shop

the lever sensor is just screwed, probably when you crashed or the tow truck screwed with your car

just remove the center console and fix it........its real easy

Second question though.... is that covered under warranty? God I hope so since its already at the dealership and being worked on.

 

yes, it's covered if you say it just happened, don't mention the accident or anything

any violent rub or hit on the underbelly will make this happen lol, its very easy to fix man.........why didn't you tell me

Well right now Im kinda stranded on what to do. I took it in to get the gearshift fixed and found out there was more damage to the car then originally known when the radiator got tagged.

Whatever flew through my car was big enough to bounce through the back like a pin ball and it damaged my Transmission Pan and my Fuel Tank assembly.

So I am going through my insurance to get it all fixed.... they are adding the price of the radiator to it as well so ill be getting "money back" for what i already paid which is nice.

Also they are fixing the undercarage engine protector... the nice lil platic piece that got a giant hole put through it by whatever decided to attack me(angry possums according to Dozer.

So yah... i dont have the time to take off work to take it to the body shop right now and I went on saturday but they are closed and only open by appointment. So i need to call this week and set an appointment for this coming up Saturday to take it in and have another claim adjustor come out and look at the damage....
