Car to drive from SFO to LAX? Help...

Okay, so I have to pick what car to drive, I have my RX-8 which I'm guessing will use 1.5 tanks +/- each way of gas

or

My GF's car or her mom's car

a 2001 Mercedes E320

or perhaps an 01 Accord 4 cyl. (I'm not sure about the mechanical condition since its been idling strangely lately and don't know if I trust it that distance)

Do you guys think the E320 would get better gas mileage? I'm more inclined to drive my car since it is the car I'm insured for but I'm considering taking the E320. What do I do?!

SF to LA drive at 65-70mph max.
I used only 1 tank.
I was surprised too.

If your worried about gas mileage don't take the 8 unless you can be very patient and drive 65-70 all the way.... Yeah probably shouldn't take the accord if its having mechanical issues, so that leaves only your gf car or e320. But since your not insured your probably going to take it easy and drive the speed limit anyways so take your car lol. In the end take the 8 cause your insured on it.

Did you drive on I-5 at those speeds? The trucks will run you over driving that slow in the right lane.

I've done that stretch of I5 many times, even the Camry's and minivans are doing 70-75 and the semitrucks are going way faster than 55.

I'd take E320 unless u knew Accord was not going to break down.
