I just got my car a couple of weeks ago and am looking to have a clear bra installed. Anybody out there have one done? How much did it run you? A friend with a new G35C is also looking to have it done, so we're hoping for a mini-group deal.

I'm down in Sunnyvale, so am looking for something in the San Jose area.

I know of only one installer in the South Bay (San Jose) and he ripped me off. Double-charged my credit card and despite promises to issue a refund never did. I think his name was Rik Walters.

Unless you're talking about the front bumper part, everything else is really straightforward to install yourself. Save yourself some cash and put the other pieces (hood, headlight, front quarter panel) on yourself. If you want someone to "mentor" you during the process I have installed those parts. I'm in Hayward.

Maybe I'll take you up on that offer. In the meantime, I'll keep looking around and seeing if there are any reasonable install prices. How long did it take?

Also, what track is your BMW on in your avatar picture?

 

That picture was taken at Thunderhill, turn 5.

Install takes a couple hours going slow. Once you do one car you get the hang of it and things go faster the next time around.
