We're going to show off our 7s and 8s at the Coronado Speed Festival on Sunday Sept 25!
It's being organized by the 7s guys here in San Diego, but they really want to see the 8s join in.

It's this Sunday guys and dolls!!!
Don't forget you must buy a ticket. You save a whopping 10 clams if you buy online vs. at the door. The club will distribute the car corral passes at our gathering spot at Pt Loma, for free. Well except that John will want a beer later or something. lol
for the event tickets go to
www.fleetweeksandiego.org
Click on the Events heading, then on the Coronado Speed Festival picture. It will take you to ticketderby to complete the registration and payment.
It costs $27.08. That includes $2.08 in convenience charges and processing fees. (Beeee---Essssssssssss)
The schedule for Sunday looks awesome. Vintage auto racing all day long, starting at 12:40 PM.
Just the first group of 1950s entries is impressive: Lotus, Corvettes, Mercedes, and a Maserati. Later on are the vintage Alfas, 356 Porsches (my fave), some Lolas, a McLaren, a couple 1960s Austin Mini Coopers a 66 Shelby GT, and a bunch of 60s and 70s Mustangs.
Drifting expo at the end of the day FTW.

it was there, saw it in the pits!
In the pits, we also came across my dad's buddy working on his vintage Porsche. He came in 2nd in his race later in the day. He passed almost 30 cars to take 2nd. ... best race of the day by far. Powered by pistons my old man designed.
There were 3 of us in RX7s and 3 in RX8s in the Car Club Corral, next to a bunch of Miatas and about a dozen very nice Loti.
