Sooo this new alternative to get off foriegn oil production only applies to big american trucks?? That is all I saw in the compatbility list, with a few exceptions. Has anyone tried this E85 in ther Rx8 ?? I am willing ot bet that it works..... or works then blows up your engine!

Ethanol requires a richer mixture than gasoline. If the car isn't tuned for ethanol, you'll run lean, which can lead to detonation and blown apex seals. Also, it's more caustic than gasoline, and will eat the rubber parts in some fuel systems.
Most import manufacturers don't care about ethanol, since their countries aren't really producing it. The U.S. manufacturers are located a bit closer to the corn fields. I think many Dodge and Ford cars are able to use ethanol. Mercedes makes a car or two that can use it as well.

E85 will NOT work in the 8 and is only for flex fuel vehicles. That's lots of late model Fords. The price has gone astronomical as the gas companies cornered the market on Ethonol as gasoline rocketed up.
Here in Nebraska where E10 used to be a high octane alternative to Premium (and cheaper than both it and regular @ 89 octane) is now MUCH higher priced.
