Front plate...must?

Hey guys,

Yes, i know it's required to have front plate in CA....but at the same time, yes, it looks really really ugly on Rx-8.

Just wondering how you guys deal with it? Leave it on? Take it off and driving around without any problem? What's your resolution?

Currently I still have my front plate on, just scared of getting pull over and etc....>.>;

Pretty much "AT YOUR OWN RISK" type of thing. I have mine off and have been "warned" 4 times. I like how you just joined, just to ask that question.

When I lived in MO I had mine on. Used small angle brackets bought from Home Depot (or was it Lowes?) and tapped into the upper lip of the black-plastic grill, so it wouldn't be seen, when I removed it after moving to Arizona.

See pic.

I've never had problems with it off. I actually got lucky once because my picture was taken at a traffic light but I never got the ticket.

I have not had a front plate on my Miata since I first bought it 6 years ago. During that time I've gotten over 5 speeding tickets and only once have been VERBALLY warned about the front plate. Usually they pull me over from behind, so they don't notice. But, if you're being a total jackass to the cop he might just do a walkaround to see what else he could possibly bust you for.

i havent had a problem with it. most cops wont pull you over just for that but they may tack it on if they do stop you. you should be fine if you are stock.

had one ticket but was from when I was pulled over for other stuff

You can't get pulled over for just no front plate, thats my inspiration

woot! thx tiltmode, I think that's what i'll do. At least it won't block the air flow, and it's kinda stylist, imo. I don't have any tools, so I'll get it done at the shop, or can the dealershipt do that? Since it's just matter of remounting the plate.
