Galpin Mazda in the SVC
Seems they (galpin) are reading the posts but are just lurking and calling owners out on it when they get service. So, this is a PUBLIC CALL OUT ON GALPIN.
I would like the following addressed on my car.
1. The door ding YOU put on my car or provide proof to me that it was there prior to my dropping it off.
2. My seat fixed. (call silverstar or cerritos)
3. Rough Idle
4. and an Estimate for new tires.
Since you (galpin) feel its ok to call out owners, I am returning the favor. Your actions can be construed as extortion (keep your mouth shut on the board or find another dealer).
I will give you 1 week to contact me before I contact my attorney Barry Edzant and make a very public mess.
I have been a galpin customer for years and I have purchased two cars from you in the past 3 years. All I am asking for galpin to do your job and fix a product you sell and to fix a product you damaged.
I will bump this post every day if needed until I get a reply

Even Edmunds has Galpin Problems
First, I am not in the SoCal area and I have never dealt with Galpin and I have nothing against them.
If the above post is accurate, I wonder if Galpin is "calling out" Edmunds.com for their less than favorable assessment of Galpin service. See the following link .Edmunds Long Term RX-8 Report.

My post is 100% True.
I was not aware of the linked story. Interesting to say the least. I have had the same "Ferris" issues but compared to the rest, it's nothing.
From the link.....
At the beginning of this rotation, the RX-8 made a visit to the dealer, Galpin Mazda in Santa Clarita, Calif. Erin Riches took care of this task, and wasn't too happy about the experience, as she suspected a Ferris Bueller's Day Off reenactment occurred while the car was in the hands of the service department. From her detailed notes comes this account: "I took the RX-8 in at 7:30 in the morning on a Friday (I had an appointment). I finally got to talk to a service advisor at 8 a.m. after waiting behind a pair of Lincolns, and asked for an oil change, tire rotation and the TSB fix for the oil level sensor (I brought the printout with me). I expected this routine service would take a couple of hours, so I didn't bother asking the advisor for a time estimate.
"Three hours after dropping the car off, I still hadn't received a call from the dealership, so I called them. It turned out that they were done with the oil change, tire rotation and a recall that came up for the airbag. But, said the service advisor, it's going to be another three hours until they finish installing the new sensor! I politely told him that in the future, it might be a good idea to give working people who drop off their cars a little heads up on how long a particular service is going to take — especially when they've come in for simple maintenance and an apparently minor TSB." Erin surmised that "it's possible that their slowness had something to do with the fact that this had been just a Lincoln-Mercury dealership until a couple months ago when Mazda sales and service was added. The service advisors seemed a little befuddled by the RX-8 and the Mazda 3 that pulled up behind me."
After another three hours, Erin still hadn't received a call from the dealer so she called them to inquire about the car's whereabouts. She was told that it was ready and when she got there to pick it up, was handed a bill of $46.89, which was pretty close to the original estimate. Everything seemed OK until Erin reviewed the paperwork after arriving home. "I saw that the RX-8 had been driven 23 miles during the service appointment. Scrutinizing the receipt, I saw that the service advisor translated my comment about the 'low oil' light occasionally coming on when the oil wasn't actually low into: 'Customer states that after oil changes, the oil light comes on.' This is totally inaccurate, of course, since the car had never had its oil changed until now, but this 'misinterpretation' allowed the dealer to justify road testing the car before and after the new parts were installed. Driving 23 miles in this area would put you well out of the city limits, so I'm guessing that somebody decided to take the car to lunch and for a joyride. You don't expect this to happen when you take a $30K car in for service, and this is reason enough for me to want to avoid using this dealership in the future."

Question is: how the heck do they identify the board members? Unless you post your real name, it's not really possible based on just the nicks or something.
Needless to say, this behaviour is bullshit. I would raise serious hell if some dealership would put 23 miles on my car while in for service.

It is easy for the dealers to identify by car discriprions in the sig, maybe a posted pic. It's really not that hard for some owners to be identified.

I mean if they do good job of their work, no one would complain, right?
Good luck samsonite. I'm sure all in this forum are on your side.

since one of my posts was highlighted with the comments asking where's the rest of the story? i'll address it here. i wrote
"I asked them to check out the rough idle and my rattling steering wheel, but i had to pay like 50 bucks.I didn't take it"
they added a note on the transcripts that said
"vehicle was rear ended. where's the rest of the story?"
Although I'm not a mechanic I really doubt that my rough idle was due to the fact that i got rear ended. I also dont think that the rattling from my driver's side airbag is due to getting rear ended either. In fact I got my rear end checked by a body shop and they said there was no body damage or frame damage.

I am going to the independent next door to Galpin, They are called MazTech and Rob is the best. He and his crew can admit when they are wrong and fix it, unlike the asshats @ Galpin.
All they had to do was fix my dent and fix my car. I was not asking for the world.

There was similar anger on the Evo boards a few months ago when one member brought in his Evo with a blown engine and the dealer wouldn't even look at it because he had been at the track a few weeks earlier. They actually placed people at the tracks writing down license plate numbers to void out warranties.
I'm not saying that I agree with either practice, however I can understand the dillema:
- The dealership have to watch out for people that will screw up their car and expect a fix because it is "under warranty." (What? You mean my engine isn't covered by warranty just because I replaced my intake with a dryer hose and some pantyhose over one end to act as a filter.)
- We need to watch out for dealers who look for any excuse to screw us over. (Hmm well, your installing aftermarket speakers and an amp resulted in your engine failure.)
I think that the leason to learn from all this is that dealers are monitoring these pages so postings should keep that in mind. Especially when talking about mods and things that could void parts of the warranty.
