Honda and Mazda dealers in the SD and LA area?

Are there any Honda and Mazda dealers that you would recommend in the SD and LA area? Looking to buy a Honda Fit or a Mazda 3i in either SD or LA. Well, I'm not the one looking for a Fit or a 3i, it is my sister that is looking to buy one. She is located in Santa Barbara now and I'm going there for spring break. Hopefully I can help her pick one out. She has narrowed it down to the 09 Fit and 3i, but so far the Fit is stacking up better against the 3i in terms of value. We just want to know if you guys had any experience witht he dealers around the SD and LA area.

If she is in Santa Barbara, it would be a LONG drive to go to San Diego

Honestly the Mazda dealers in LA kind of suck... I had some good experiences with Alhambra Mazda, but that's in the Pasadena area.

John Hine Mazda of San Diego is a very fair dealer

San Juan Capistrano - O.C.

I have worked with almost every dealership in socal. There are very few I would ever recommend to anyone. Hine is decent, and Weseloh is honost too. That is about it IMO

Alhambra Mazda by far is one of the worst dealerships ever.

I've heard good things about West Covina Mazda and Sierra Mazda though.

I got my rx8 at John Hine in SD. Very nice dealership, got a good deal too. I recommend them.

Well in all honesty I only dealt with their parts department when some punks damaged my Mazdaspeed spoiler in an attempt to steal it. They weren't able to get me what I needed, but at the very least they were friendly. Santa Monica Mazda used to be pretty good, but I think it closed down, sadly :(

And btw, speaking of the Fit....

Thanks, I won't be going to California until March 13th and I will be there for a week. I am landing in Burbank on the 13th at noon and right after I get off the flight, we will start looking at dealers (my sister will be driving a rental car until we actually purchase a car). We changed our plans, turns out that we're going to be in SB, LA and SD for the week.

It's really a toss up between the 2009 Fit Sport and the Mazda 3i Value. The Fit Sport fits her preference more when it comes to options, MPG and value. The 3i Touring Value with similar options (e.g. a/c, alloy wheels, power windows/mirrors/locks, etc) is about $2,000 more, it actually comes with a few items less than the Fit Sport. Both me and my sister thinks the MZ3 looks slightly better though.

Yeah, just don't take your car there for service... the service techs and service writers are idiots.

Last car I had there for service, had a bad reverse light switch... which they told me wasn't the reverse light switch, but that I needed a new battery. And then when I wouldn't buy a new battery and they refused to replace the reverse light switch under warranty, they closed the hood on a wrench leaving a nice little ding facing up.

BTW, I replaced the reverse light switch myself and drove another two years on the same battery.
