I think this is my first post on here, been signed up for a while though. (Hi RCCAZ kids!)
On my way to Tucson last night (from Phx) I saw a Winning Blue, with blue underbody lights. Stayed with them most of the way home, lost them in a couple places, but caught back up in others. What is it with RX-8 and triple digits on I-10? Either way, I finally hit the speed limiter in my car. 117. Poor 3. Lol. Anyway, whoever it was, it was fun running with you, it definitely made the drive more enjoyable. Btw, I was the black 3 with the parking light out.

Nobody STILL ever sees me ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I see 8s all the time, but they're probably not members here.
I saw a dark grey (GG?) one on Shea heading to the 101 this past Tuesday about 10:15am. Appearance package, no tint, stock alloy wheels. Shirt and Tie Guy.

DAVE! How are you? It was SO nice meeting you! Sorry the timing was off and the rest of RCCAZ couldn't represent when we met you in Sedona. Sure was a great day regardless!
Spotted: Sunlight Silver yesterday 24th St & Glendale/Lincoln around 5:15pm. 2 occupents. I was the one who made a u-turn in front of you at the light and was waving :D
Spotted: Sunlight Silver w/rear spoiler yesterday north bound on the Squaw Peak / SR 51 around 5:20'ish. I was in the far right lane and you passed me in the middle lane. I didn't see you until you'd already gone by.
Spotted: Velocity Red @ 24 hour fitness 32nd St & Bell Rd around 6:15pm
That's the most I've *EVER* seen in a short span of time. 'Bout time I started seeing more of these beauties out there!

Ya, got a rental courtesy of Mazda. Basically my engine crapped out on me, but apprently it was a fixable problem but Mazda does not allow their techs to fix it. I guess the usual protocol for what happened to me is to just replace the engine. No biggie right? Not quite, I get a call about a week ago from my service manager at Berge Mazda saying the engine that they got from Japan is made only for an automatic and they have to reorder a new engine from Japan (mind you that I have now been in my rental for two weeks which is needless to say a ford focus.) I have not driven my car now for almost an entire month. I miss it. But I dont blame Berge. It is not their fault some retard at the renesis plant mis-packaged an entire engine.

^^ Sort of what happened.
Your motor did actually fail the recall. The oil loss was a second problem. But you are right - they cannot service the internals at all per Mazda.
Your "new" motor actually came from North Carolina. The next one will as well. They are re-manufactured by an American company.
Apparently, your "new" motor was tagged as a 6-port (it even had a flywheel attached), even though it was actually a 4-port. To add to the dilemma, they are processing so many motors that they actually ran out! That is part of the reason for the wait.

I must say though, after driving a snail focus, I cannot wait to get my car back. I bet its going to feel like something new.

saw a Yellow going east bound on the 101 around Tatum at 6 PM today.
Yesterday spotted a silver 8 going east-bound on Bell rd around I-17. Chick with the trendy oversized sunglasses driving. Got startled when I flashed my lights![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Also a quite funny thing happened today. My girlfriend has a part time job at Curves (that sexiest woman's only gym) and a woman came in to work out today, she rolled up in an RX-8. My girlfriend started chatting to her about it and turns out she has an 05 Shinka Cherry black auto. She then went on to ask how she can "bypass" the governor so she can go more than 130mph! I rolled off the couch laughing when my girlfriend told me this! What the hell is a mid to late 40 year old woman driving an Auto RX8 doing at 130 mph? Crazy Phoenix drivers!

What is going on Easy? How many miles on this car?? Why did both of your engine's fail? What is Berge telling everyone? Are the failures heat related?
BTW Allister, saw that yellow 8 again today (AZ license plate 256 SYE) on my way home from work. Nice car and those dark wheels really contrast the yellow nicely. He was Southbound getting on the freeway at Elliott and continued South past the Loop 101 Pecos ramp. Have to assume he's somewhere in Maricopa or possibly Octotillo.

Well I took it in for it's 30,000 mile service and picked the car back up. When I was driving home down the freeway the A/C suddenly got hot and the temp gauge went up to about 3/4. So I go back and the coolant overflow bottle was full. So they took some out.
So off I go again. Same thing on the freeway again. It would heat up for a about a minute and cool back off. This was Friday. I didn't drive the car on Sat., Micki did and didn't notice anything. Did not drive it at all on Sun. Went to work Mon. and on the way home it did it again.
Well I took it back to the dealer and they gave me a rental. Said they would run some tests and call Mazda on it.
Well the next day I get a call and they say they are going to put an engine in it.
So here I am. Car has about 31,000 miles on it.
Funny thing is right ater I picked it up the first thing out of Micki's mouth was, "It sounds louder" Well it did sound louder and a bit deeper in tone. I assume that had something to do with it.
Funny thing is, it didn't do any of this before the service. The A/C was acting up, but the car was not overheating on me. It also died one time before the service coming off the freeway at the ramp when I stopped at the light .
