me thinks i should perhaps hold a group session regarding proper stick use..haa
first step..grasp teh stick firmly and get comfertable with it in ur hand..notice the length of the shaft and thus how much effort will be required for proper engagement...
leg positioning is equally important..ur body must be in the right orientation to properly apply the correct technique to ensure smooth and repeated manipulation...
heh

It's not the instant torque I fear so much as the lack of throttle modulation takes away a technique that is rather important in real driving. With the throttle characteristics of the K1 cars, there really is only one power-on point whereas the gas karts allow much more varied driving techniques.

I drove gas karts on Saturday with the Arizona crowd...was not impressed.

There's a reason all serious racing karts are gas.
Of course they're also not available for rent here in the states; damn lawyers! I love the smell of two-strokes in the morning!

Indeed...however your wrong in that as long as you sign your life away...some tracks will let you try to kill yourself no problem...
I miss coming around a corner at 50 mph and seeing a pileup and getting those last few moments which feel like an eternity to think about how much your about to hurt...
Oh well...until we get out to D1, K1 is all we haz as an excuse to smack talk...
I make Tremblay tremble...that said...come get some...

Friday would be very short notice for me, though I am considering coming back from the Bay Area tomorrow instead of Friday as originally planned. Next week I'll be in Long Island.
