reman goes in...AP reflashed w/ f'n old map...
i move...to CA...
i checked...but i had posted earlier, before leaving that i was having flappity valve port sticky issues...
car gets driven by stabby...gets all carboned and gunked up...
on dyno day...first pull was pre-flash...it was so gunked it caused the aborted run due to the WTF factor...jeff goes in and checks the map...goes...WTF...old map...reflashes

thanks Jeff...need to send that dude some beer, havent had time to reflash my AP or anything, so he took care of updating everything and dropped in the new maps, and got it all sorted...i totally got my money worth just on time spent for me to go about doing it, and then getting the data, and follow his procedures, etc, etc...
as the MM-AP customer...im the crappiest one...dude still takes care of you...provided your not a douche or retard...and even then ive noticed he'll make an effort to try...
but i digress...)
second pull on the dyno...was clean enough to register and prevent abortion...the reflash got things hotter quicker and since ive kept stabby in the dark about the secrets of the rotary...mainly for the protection of my investment...i doubt she would know about the whole...occasionally you have to drive the **** out of them..."beep a day keeps the carbon away"
third pull is "cleaner" but something is definitely off...
it rarely got driven as stabby likes to walk...
since ive gotten back and manually messed around with the SSV and VDT, and about to perform a VFADectomy and UIM cleanup...the transitions have gotten better as i work with it...
im thinking the "init data" from her drive in the PCM is totally shot to ****...its getting better because I am probably the first time those ports are even engaging...
im betting this is...sea foam, and manual cleanup type of job...reset the PCM, and then I provide the "init data" for the PCM tables so everything is adjusted properly...
this is probably just carbon, gunk due to a "mistreated" rotary...

I'm following along but I see some discrepancies.
Jeff updated AP before putting car on dyno... 3 AP's bricked in 24 hours showed us that last firmware by Cobb was written by Commi's and they were out to get our cars...
There goes the 1st pull theory...
You drive your car the way it's supposed to be driven which means not much carbon in there...
Carbon won't build up that quickly with Stabby driving / walking if you were only gone a month or two...
Pulls did get cleaner but keep in mine I was the first to drive your car the way it was 'supposed' to be driven. Did that the night of the battery was put in...
Seafoam is a start but not sure it'll solve all our issues.
Init data might be an issue but with the PCM reflashed, init data should be good via Jeff's new map...
Oh, and I'm partial to the Mazda spray stuff, you get to play with nipples...

I use seafoam and play with nipples!! just use a vacuum hose and a shot glass that way one person can do it you don't need a second one.. I think it might work better than Mazda's stuff but hey that's me, Ive been using seafoam for years though so I'm biased ..
get some deep creep clean up all the flappers, seafoam the housings twice and call it a day.
Shifting at 4k for a month or two will get some nasty buildup on our cars.. also if it was running rich due to the old maps which I think it was that could add to the problem.
have you taken off the intake components and checked things out yet?

And then its sees a few minutes in traffic...and SOMETIMES get's beeped...since I tend to be courteous to my neighbors...so only when its around people that dont know where I live...
So its not like I might have been contributing to the problem...maybe I wasnt flogging her hard enough...
Mazda spray stuff sounds like the winner then...unless the delta between the two is substantial...
However...you did say I'd get to play with the nipples...so I guess I can see the value proposition...which therefore solves my dilemma...nipples...FTMFW
