LA restaurants??
I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions of good restaurants in or very close to LA.
I'm looking for a place to take my girl for her birthday, but i'm poor so no sushi places... I'm looking to spend around about $30 for entrees. AND we care mostly about how good the food tastes, rather that the atmosphere.

theres a place by PCH and topanga canyon called the Reel Inn, they do fresh fish served in a number of styles, like sauteed or grilled etc, pretty awesome food
theres a place on jefferson and 10th av in inglewood, they have really really really good cajun food, about 20-30 dollars/order
if your into korean bbq, go to cho sung galbi near western on olympic, super good korean bbq

On a real note tho - Morton's Steak house is really good - kinda pricey - or Mama Coza's on Ball - i really like that place for the price and food - you've probably been there or seen it...not really intimate (sp), but definately a cool place

Clafoutis on Sunset/Doheny.
Its french"ish" right on the strip with availible patio seating. Quick service, amazing food, hip, might spot someone famous there.

yea... i wanted originally to take her to summithouse or melting pot in fullerton/brea but didn't think it was worth my driving out to OC to LA and then from LA back to OC only to drop her off back in LA... but i haven't heard of orange hill b4 so i need to check that place out.
oh, and if anybody was curious, i ended up taking her to Roy's in downtown LA - GREAT hawaiian fusion seafood and service.
