Lapping days in California?

Hi guys, I'm actually from toronto and was hoping to capitalize on lapping days at the various tracks in the area when I'm coming to the L.A area probably near the end of feb or early march 08. Anyways, was hoping to get some information about road courses that are in the area, clubs and such that uphold these events and approximately how far it is from Los Angeles and how much the entrance fee would be on that specific course. I don't want to break the bank and go for some $500 lapping days but was hoping to have some fun down there. Anyways thanks for your responses in advance.

Cal Speedway is the closest to LA proper (Fontana); it is the big NASCAR oval but most clubs use the interior road course.

Willow Springs complex is about 1.5 hours northeast in Rosamond. they have 3 separate tracks that host lapping events.

Buttonwillow is also about 1.5 hours, North, right next to I-5. usually draws plenty of NorCalers in addition to SoCalers because of its accesibility.

I really had my heart set on laguna seca but it seems like it is a bit too far ~ 5 hour drive from LA? Which one of the tracks mentioned is a better track? Buttonwillow, willow springs or spring mountain?

Of those, I've only driven Buttonwillow, and Streets of Willow (the 'middle' of the Willow Springs trio). I prefered Buttonwillow, but I don't think you can go wrong w/ any of them incl. the other Willow Springs tracks. the "big" track at Willow Springs is called 'the fastest track in the West' for it's long large-radius sweepers; I hope to get back down there to drive that one soon. so many of the car ads you see on TV are filmed @ Willow Springs, so that's another cool thing going for it; after you drive there, when you see it on a commercial you can reminisce

Spring Mtn is in Nevada (iirc), so if proximity to LA is important, that's not really a practical choice.
