Las Vegas Caravan to Seven Stock
#34
Hell, my car made it on one tank of gas from Fort Apachie and Tropicana to Beach Blvd and Edinger (the light came on). You guys should only have to stop once (to stay on the safe side) so if you preset your stoping point the phones will work just fine.

i have a walkie talkie set... one of them FRS radios... supposed to be good range plus its pretty much open land so it should work. i suppose those are compatible w/ any FRS... but either way, we all should have each others' cell number.
But we're really not going out of rout to be "out of service" or am i missing something?
That's pretty good... i remember having to top off @ Primm or Jean then go all the way to Fontana w/ about a 1/4 tank and top off again -- just to be sure

How do you drive? I get about 120 miles to the gallon.
But as it will take 4-6 hours to get there I may not be able to caravan w/ you guys. I have my little one to consider, and will have to stop to feed and change.

i drive "spirited" drives... usually make it in about 3 -3 1/2 hours
i think they're planning to leave early Friday for a leisurely caravan to Cali and arrive early to settle down and prepare for the Friday events...

Everyone stops at least once if for no other reason than to use the restroom or get a soda. I am sure that they will be stopping at least once in Baker or Barstow and maybe more if your needs are such.

I don't know about leaving real early friday cuz i still have to work that day...probably see if i can go in 7-330p or 5-130p...
When we went to Disneyland, we made it from Mike's house-1 stop at the Alien Jerky place-to Beach Blvd, Holiday Inn Express-and even drove around a lil bit, got lost w/out filling up...over 230somthing miles. We did end up filling up before going back to the hotel so we didnt have to deal with it in the day.

I'm off Friday Saturday & Sunday so what ever works. It dont take place till Saturday anyway.
As for the driving I'll be doin 75-80 not the best gas MPG but we can make the trip in about 3 1/2 hours with 2 stops and who knows we might just get lost along the way

Before we hit the road everyone will need to meet at a gas station fill up check our cars out then roll out from there. At that time we will exchange cell numbers. If anyone needs something call the leader of the pack so he or she can start to pull over or what ever, the rest will follow. This way no one brakes off from the back and gets lost or whatever

I know for many runs we also carry FRS radios for short distance communication. You usually only get about 2 miles out of them with direct line of sight but at least if someone has to stop they can notify the whole group at once.
