It's easier to lip the front left side of the car, and take off the left wheel. There should be a DIY on how to change them, the easy way! But, from now on if I was you I would always let the car warm up before shutting it off..

 

It doesn't need to necessarily be warmed-up, it just needs to be run for a minute or two, revved a bit, then shut down. At least , that's what has worked for me and I am in MI.

 

Well, it's not necessary, but I still like to do it rather than taking any chances.

 

Armin, I found the bulbs. only thing is one has a hint of blue more than the other. I'll give them to you if you want them.

With regard to flooding, In most electronically fuel injected cars to clear the condition it is recommended to hold the accelerator to the floor and crank the engine for 10 to 20 seconds. This should signal the computer that this is a flood clearing scenario and it doesn't deliver fuel to clear the flood. Should work in RX 8's also.

 

That's what it has also said in the owner's manual since mid-2003. That doesn't mean it works as it should, though.

Since both dealers are all owned buy the same man, the level of incompetence, ineptitude and ignorance is beyond belief. If your really need work, a quick trip to Phoenix may be in order. There is a dealer there that has your best interest in mind. You might wish to contact Mike as he is friendly with the only Mazda mechanic that Courtesy group has.

I have been told that oil and heat were the two big culprits on engine failures. Oil was easily fixed so they did that thru flashes. Heating is up to you.

Yeah thats one way of doing it the other is; Taking the spark plugs out.
