I think I'm going to watch Prince at South Point this Friday with the ol' lady. It's free and I heard it's pretty good.

Nice night for a drive... just got home.

... anyone wanna drive up to the summit sometime? nice sweepers on the way up there.

I noticed something about the K&N... i love the sound it puts out initially... but the sound on WOT in certain RPMs sometimes doesn't sound the greatest... to the point that i might consider switching back to the stock intake... thoughts?

Idemitsu Premix in mine. The 09 engine is coming with an extra oil injector to compensate for the lack of oil lubricating the seals in the current engine build-that should be a no-brainer.

As for what type of oil, I'm using Castrol GTX 5W20 but I'm thinking of trying some 5W30 then maybe go Synthetic. oOoO...

PeeTom , I use 5W20 in the Winter time and 5W30 in the Summer time and use Idemitsu pre-mix all year around 6oz to every full tank of gas. Thats about $50.00 every week and a 1/2 for me.

Flip, If you take off your K&NV2 Intake and go back to stock your going to feel a loss of power on the top end

I'm off Friday anyone want to kik it hit me up!

I went from K&N V1, back to stock.. But, I still got my Greddy SP2 exhaust! If you're gonna go back to stock intake, you should atleast get an aftermarket exhaust. I can't really remember if you have a stock exhaust on your car right now, if not then you should go with what I've told ya..

On the premix, use a minimum of 4oz and a maximum of 6 oz per fill up. It's hard to put in too much but if you overdue it you may smoke a little. Spark plug fouling is minimal and you will be getting more fouling off the cheep gas we get. Be sure and use Idemitsu or Pettit. Others will leave a residue (but in an emergency any 2 cycle oil is better than none). Even the 09 with it's extra oiling is still recommending premix (tuners). As for oil, a quality synthetic such as Royal Purple is your best bet (ignore Mfg. recommendations against synthetic oils as it was slanted against only one synthetic and they were afraid of a lawsuit). I personally use Royal Purple 5W30 (in the engine, 5W50 in the s/c) most of the year except for the heat of the summer then I go to 5W50 for those three months. You must understand they way oil gets to the friction parts of our rotaries then you would understand why premix is the best way to go unless your equipped with a special oiling system (available soon by BHR) for your system.

What gasket is this?? If you guys have a problem with our local Stealership not carrying a part or gasket or getting a really stupid price, let me know and I may be able to help you or steer you the right way.

Some studies have been done with various CAI to find the benefits. While some add a minimal HP they ask you to sacrifice idle stability and mileage. Most of the gains reported were due to the noise factor (more noise means more speed ). Currently the two best ways for good idle and unchanged mileage are stock and the RB Revi with duct. Keep in mind that if any of you ever want to go FI chances are you will have to remove any CAI cuz the MAF sensor requires a better setup (near stock). I am currently working on converting my RB duct to my S/C intake (slow process).

OK let me post these items again and see if I get any bites:

Anthony, I have your tent. Do you want to come by to get it to try out?

Jason N., I have your case of premix, come by and get it.

Jim B. and I have talked and will get together so he can get his premix.

I have need to remove my rear tail lights and drill the holes in them for drainage and to reseal them. While I know what to do, I am a little short of the physical prowess to complete this task. Is there any of you that has done this?? I know Gil has but he's always working and I'd like to do it this weekend if possible. Any volunteers????

Dunno if i can describe it correctly... its like when you're cruising and downshift before a turn or like when the car's been running and when taking off initially... when the secondary intake valve opens up while you start to accellerate back to WOT... the car sounds like it could rattle something off. Everything is bolted/tightened down right... i dunno
