Thanks bro, Liza was in panic mode she was like call AAA. I was like hold on let me call Gil, he has photographic memory he can walk me through it. lol Thanks for coming out. I owe you another solid!
Phil I just spoke to Ray at length about my car. There are few things I need to look at. First there shouldn't be an issue from using an 04 clutch on my 08 transmission.
Second, Ray wants me to remove my starter and look into the pressure plate to see if any of the bolts have backed off.
If those don't solve my problem then as a good measure he suggests that I get my clutch pedal welded up and adjusted to spec.
On the surface it would seem that my synchros and clutch are fine and that my issue may be something simple like the pressure plate or pedal. If those items don't work I'll have to take the tranny off and dig around inside for anything else that would cause the problem but Ray can't really think of what else it might be with the symptoms I have.
He suggests I take the pedal to you for welding. Is that cool with you?

^^ Courtesy did it.
My choices are pay to have it towed there and pay the diagnostic fee if they won't assume responsibility, which they probably won't and they'll blame it on my used transmission. Or I can try to figure it out myself and make the simple adjustment if I can. If I absolutely can't get it down myself I will bring it to Courtesy expecting the fight.

$100 diagnostic and they might try to tell me it's the used transmission I bought instead of blaming it on their work. We have really ruled out the tranny but Courtesy has been SUPER shady since I have dealt with them. If I can I wanna figure this out myself.
If the pressure plate is the problem and we just have to tighten the bolts then great. If we figure out it is a shitty clutch that Courtesy gave me then fine, at least I know and we can bring it to them knowing they can't blame my transmission and try to sell me a new one.

$90.00 per hour is the new low end in the flat rate book for auto repairs. Finding someone with a shop and insurance that will work for that is going to be difficult. I believe that the current hourly rate at Courtesy is $125.00. Even that would not be bad if they knew what they were doing. I know Mike's friend works there but he is most likly the only one there that does good work.
I'm sure you can find some one to work for less but be careful as he will not have a business license or insurance.

I won't be going with a shop right away. I am going to try to fix this with friedns if we can finally figure out what the problem is. If we can't then I am going to try Chris at Area 77.
I won't make the meet Phil... I'll be Black Friday'd out in Cali...
Too bad you will not make the meet. I hear that since Cali is in such bad shape that they are holding visitors for ransom......
