That is not saying it can't be done, just that how much time do you have to screw with the dealer.
If you do find a used vehicle that you want to buy, your better off making an appointment with a good local mechanic (usual cost about $100.00) and have him do a once over of the vehicle, during your test drive. I have seen the consumer finding problems with a vehicle before purchase and the dealer making repairs before the "as is" purchase is complete (or discounting the vehicle price).

For the ones that want to stay off the strip: I just confirmed I can do coned off parking!
You will not lose your spot unless another 8 takes the spot lol
How it works: Cone in spot. Remove cone and park. Place cone behind car. When you leave the spot place a cone there so no one piston takes your spot.
Our back lot is now walled in by a 10' brick wall with tons of light and the security guard is a ex RX-8 owner. PM me for room info

While I will volunteer for most jobs, sorry about the clutch......I haven't done a clutch in 30 or 40 years and on my back under a car is not some where I want to be.
I'll be screwing around in the garage, if you stop by maybe we can check it out. Be sure and call me before you come.

Phil, can I stop by and pick up the air pump? call me when your home and have free time.
I'm off thursday and friday. I'll be home filling out applications online eating pizza and playing ps3

Phil (fmmieres) if you have a friend that can do the clutch, then we can do it at my garage if you wish.....
I know Gil know how to change a clutch and maybe Armin. The only thing I would ask is that we get started early (before 10am) so that Nancy and I can go out Saturday evening. Gil maybe working so a call to him might be in order.
In the "old" days it used to take me about two hours to change a clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing but that was when I was young.

You know I was going to save all the thanks until after the meet, but just thought I would pass on a current thank you to all that are helping with this:
CHUNBELIEVEABLE: For the perfect art work for the flier and some give aways. I think his style has helped make this a "must come" affair.

Hopefully I will be over tomorrow to get a scan and that TPMS. I am trying to baby my car right now because she isn't quite fixed just yet.

Any one able to give a little help to Phil on his clutch??? I guess he will be here (my house) tomorrow about 10am to try and do it himself.... I don't remember it being that difficult but hell it's been mucho years since I did one and me getting under a car is not going to happen. If you want to come by and help or just sit here and laugh, PM me for directions........

I was just going thru the manual and it may be a little more complacated than the older cars I used to work on.....The electronics on this one leave some doubt in my mind as I can't tell how to lower the housing. If I had to guess, I would say now say that a clutch change at home may be a several hour project. I will ask a friend how bad it is.......

Drop the midpipe/CAT (leave the O2 sensor in and just unplug it), the PPF and the driveshaft (leave the output shaft in the tranny to keep the juice in).
Support everything with a tranny jack, remove the shifter (from inside the car), the clutch slave (leave attached to the line) and the starter motor.
Unbolt the tranny bell housing and pull the transmission off.
