I was not sure about you and the Cobb.......I'll hold it until the end of the month which give you a little while. I will put your name first on the list (if there will be a list). SOLD to Chun

Your water temp gauge may already have a sensor with it if you purchased it new......if it does then we can add it Saturday....Some gauges don't require a separate sensor and can use the one in the car. What is the make of your gauges?

I have Glowshift digital gauges and they come with the necessary sensors but the Racing Beat sandwich plate allows me to to mount the sensors somewhere. Unless I can run without the plate. If I can great. I am not sure. Maybe Ray, E or Friend know?

I'll let you know about the COBB.

Nooooo... I said after the Cobb and CAI that I would be done. Having to buy the Cobb sooner means I will be done sooner.

lol thats what I was talking about, are you going to leave it unpainted with your red 8? Just not sure how that would look but you would know better. But if your going to paint could get less expensive who would know

Nah I wouldn't paint it. It is not noticeably lighter so to paint a carbon fiber hood would defeat the purpose of getting one. If I went with the hood I would leave it carbon fiber. I am seriously debating the look.

They look great on some 8's but Kasumi isn't very tuner-ish, which I like. If I went with this hood I might be heading down a whole new direction with the car which I am not so sure I want to do. But there is a local guy who is selling the hood, trunk and mazdaspeed style wing all in carbon fiber for crazy cheap.

Granted I would only want the hood but still, when a deal pops up like that, you gotta think about it.

hey a deal is a deal, well the CF hood I would imagine is styled well. I think thats the catch 22 with CF stuff it's either leave it alone or paint but if painting might as well get FG but what do I know look at what I drive lol

You were also talking about getting the hydraulic hood lifts.....They don't work on a CF hood. Not trying to talk you out of it but just point out a fact. I'm afraid I agree with 13X, not sure Kasumi will look like your car with that much CF.

That's the problem... I am NOT sure how it would look and thus, why I keep debating it. It might look cool! I know the hydraulic hood dampers done't work with the CF hood, so if I get the hood I'll have to stick with the conventional hanger, not a big deal.

I am gonna go at least look at the hood, would love to test fit the damn thing.

Side Note: On the way to meet Pam for lunch, I was turning onto the 15 entrance ramp from Russel and I saw a MURDERED OUT 8. It was back and it had what I think was the mazdaspeed rear diffuser, mazdaspeed side skirts, r magic front bumper, black mag wheels, blacked out rear lights, and crazy dark tint. He was going west on Russel and I had just turned off Russel to hit 15.

Anyone know this guy? If not... why don't we?!?!?!?

Not sure what time that was but it could have been Jeff........except that he has the MS front bumper.

Yes and no on the gauges. I'll talk to you later about that. He has now left. He found the short but the s/c needs to come off AGAIN. I am hoping Erick can come back up to help me.

Nah I would recognize Jeff's car... unless he got new wheels and blackened out of his light in the back. Plus I don't think this guy has the MS wing like Jeff does because I am pretty sure it was the OEM wing.

I'll talk to you about the gauges. Should I try to buy Goose's plate then? Let me know ASAP so I can make sure he doesn't sell it.

Yeah I think it would be nice but I am not going to get it. I'll give the contact info of the guy selling the hood, trunk and mazdaspeed wing to anyone who is interested. I haven't gone to see the parts so I don't know the condition. He did give me a great price on everything though, so that's a good start.

so the hood is not molded with vents?

I just can't see the CF pattern against the color of Kasumi, just my opinion they look best contrasting against a black or white car

How about a FG with a little venting, perhaps a hint of rice, could give you a slightly more agressive look while give her some pratical venting while painted the same color as the rest of the car. An idea you probably wouldn't like btu what about a one of a kind piece of hood art

Nope... no fiberglass hood either. That's definitely too ricey. I'll stick to Kasumi's clean look... I was just debating this hood because it is OEM style. After thinking about it all day and talking to a bunch of cats I am going to stay with the direction I have been going.

The hood would look nice on your car.....In order for it to look nice on Chun's car it would have to be painted. CF and VR are not a good match. If your gonna paint it black why not just use your existing hood? Now your black car would look good with CF.

Well I could be wrong but a continued lack of the sensor should cause a CEL. Now if you can put up with the sensor light and a CEL then I guess it's ok. We could bypass the sensor and fool the system.

See if you can get a cheep used tank and I will try again to make one out of aluminum with a sensor fitting. One reason I stopped trying to make one was the time it would take out of the car as a pattern. Since yours is broken anyway if I could have it for a while it may become viable to make one or two.

See ya Saturday little phil, and you to Chun. Saw Gil for a few yesterday he was in a hurry. Got a text in the evening from AJ (i think) but I was sleeping and somehow must have erased it.

I looks like I'll be down for a while as Todd (Flashwing) had blown his engine on the way to seven stock and his rebuild is in front of me. Removing my s/c is not for the faint hearted. I was going to mount the new gauge pod but Chun tells me I don't have the room where it is designed to mount. Now I have a gauge pod for sale. Oh well stuff happens. My alternative on the gauge pod is now one of those that mounts near the nav unit.
