Rodger: yes, they are covered but the only way Mazda will replace them is if they run a voltage meter thingy on them. Believe it or not, most will still be "within parameters" despite burn marks on the outside of the coil packs.

i guess it depends on how you look at it. It's not worth my time to take it to the dealership. I mean I have to pull my rims off and some how make it there after work before they close. I'd rather pay the cost to be the boss..haha I took a meter to mine and they are definetly bad. Not to mention those burn marks.

the car will still run...just won't pull as hard and mpg will drop slightly. The coil packs are $24 each. You'll need 4.

under your intake box, you'll see them. if they've got burn marks on the outside.... might be good idea to change them
