WTF! won't that shorten the life of the bulbs if you've got them cranking out that much light?

Long Answer: Over driving them reduces their life by 20%-30%. The rated life of our bulbs is 3000 hours. So even at 30% life loss, you're still talking about 2100 hours of use. (thats a lot of night driving) Compare that to the 350 hours halogens are rated to last.
I'm still experimenting. The picture above shows the ballast overdriven by about 30 watts. With the right resistors I could easly increase the power to any number. I'd like to start at 7watts, that would create 42watts total and increase power by 20%.
This would result in about 25%-30% more light becuase the lumen output for the bulbs is not linear.
