didn't drive it for almost 2 weeks and I think the trunk was left open for about 4 of those days.

why would you leave the trunk open for 4 days, now you have to buy another optima.

I don't have to buy nothin! (my english teachers would be so proud...)

The Optima is designed as a deep cycle battery so it handles being drained MUCH much better then normal batteries. Just jump start it, drive it around a bit and it's good to go again.

Car was moved 4 days ago since I was working in the garage and I somehow managed to open the trunk accidentally. I didn't catch it until this morning since it had the car cover on.

You should be fine if it is a deep cycle battery. Cars have residual power draws that will drain a battery after a few weeks. Having your trunk open doesn't help, our trunk light doesn't turn itself off like the interior lights.

yeah Rodger, you gotta figure out how to auto-kill that trunk light. That's the second time I've done that but fortunately only the first time it's actually needed a jump.

its the factory battery that mazda put in under warranty. I didn't see the point in buying a new battery until I had to.
