we hung out at the location until 8:25 at which point we moved to the structure behind the Ralph's because of the rain.
About 15-20 cars showed up. Great meet overall.

don't be so negative! we had a great turnout last time, and this meet was successful as well.
awww, i'm sorry to hear that. there was some confusion over where to meet, whether it was at the posted location or the parking structure across the way. since it rained, many of the 8's relocated at the structure, but me and rasp went back to the park around 9:30pm because one of the guys said he saw some cars there. when we arrived, there wasn't anyone there. i hope this didn't discourage you from meeting up with everyone and you should come to the next meet!

If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?"
police accusing the owners of the parked vehicles of being street racers
Despite labeling the parking lot raid as taking place at a "street racing venue," Riverside Police offered no evidence that any street racing actually took place
Using $503,000 in federal and state gas tax revenue to pay for overtime
Police issued a total of forty-eight tickets for "engine modifications"
Another fifty tickets were issued for paperwork violations, dark window tinting and lack of a front license plate
The most revenue, however, will be generated from the fees imposed on twenty vehicles that were confiscated

is that even legal for them to do? how can they prove that any of these people are street racers? and how can they preform a warrant-less search when the owners of the vehicles weren't doing anything suspicious in the first place? can't they just take them to court and battle it out?

i don't think they can. and the fact that they searched them without a warrant or any reasonable cause. if being in a parking lot is reasonable cause, then our system's gone to hell

幹他媽!
heh... the tix are nothing compared to what Texas & Utah cops did. they freaking TAZED ppl for asking them a simple question as to why they were being issued a tix. and, even worse is the internal police investigation of the incidents actually found the officers did nothing wrong.
WTF!!
check out this month's C&D editorial on the topic. (attachment) and, the videos of the incidents are on youtube.com
