Well guys, I'm in a dilema. I was driving around town today when I see a MS6 next to me. Well he smokes me pretty. So what i do? I go strait to the Mazda dealer and I test drive the thing. Well I was impress with how good the car feels. Well I love my 8 but the MS 6 has more grunt. It would also serve better as a family car and more economical since insurance will be cheaper and gas is better. So in the back of my head I want to get it but at the same time I like my rotaries. I just hope Mazda would do something to claim the 8 as their top oif the line sports car soon.

yeah but it is the top of the line sports cars, the mx-5 is just a littel roadster and the 6 is a sedan no matter what model it is. stick with the 8 more fun better looks and you get all of us as friends

Well After doing some research on the MS6, I think I'm going to keep the 8 for another year at least. So I hope when it comes time to trade in the 8 For a better version of it.

is the ms6 really that fast? that seems kind of no fair to us rx-8 owners. rx-8 is supposed to be the flagship sportscar, not the boxy looking sedan like the ms6. mazda has ripped us off if that is the case... now i'm sad.

sorry konig it beats it in braking as well, the rx8 edges it out only in handling but by a suprisingly small margin(by independant testing not mazdas bullshit numbers)
either way the ms6 is at the top of its game and the rx8 is just starting, the rx8 has more power potential boosted and more room for handling improvement

But you have to test drive it. It does handles pretty good. I bet if you lower it it will make a night and day difference since the MS6 sit so hi. The only problem with the car is that is tunned to run 93+ octane. some people are reporting when 91 is in use the car will open the wastegate at 4250 RPM and run off boost in high gears. But you can use 87 and the car will not boost. The ECU recognize what time of octane you are using and adjust boost from there. I just like it because for a family car is more practical and it has *****!!!

RX-8's rotary engine efficiently performs the four processes of intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. The RENESIS engine is remarkably smooth and high revving — all the way to 9,000 rpm (7,000 rpm on Sport A/T-equipped models) — and offers a smaller engine footprint than traditional internal combustion engines (some 60-percent smaller than a comparably powered V-6, and 40-percent smaller than a four-cylinder).
Improving upon 40 years of development, the RENESIS engine boasts side intake and exhaust ports with nearly 30-percent more intake area and twice as much exhaust area than previous rotary engines.
