looks like we may have an FD and a WRX...I've seen other cars at our events. As long as they are safe and follow the rules of the group...about keeping appropriate distances between cars, and keeping the person in back of you in your mirror.

We got to be careful, because I don't want this meet to end up like the G35/350Z meets, where everyone and their grandmother shows up. Its just a mess. We also have to be careful, because we will see our friends again this weekend (ouur Ferrari and Lambo friends)...

the more things change
well gentle men i just joined a new club. it's called the speeding ticket club
. he says i was doing 61 on a curve
. posted speed 35. he may be right as i have know idea how fast i was going
all i know it was my favorite inner city curve. well could be worse i could be like one of my customers today. he told me he got a letter regarding a fix it ticket. $700. bucks because he did not go to a clerk office after getting it signed off. bad part of that it was for a broken tail light. boy you have to really love this place...

Even though I've been on the canyons a few times, I want to take it a bit slower this time because I'm not use to the 19 inch rims and my toyo tires are still pretty new...so I'll be towards the back of the pack this time.
Sorry to hear about that speeding ticket micahel.

Sorry to hear about the ticket Michael....I would agree with you that you wouldn't have known if you were going 60 or 80...the speeds in our 8's are deceptive, especially around corners. Hope it isnt too steep, and your able to get traffic school to clear it. Hope your work falls through and we can catch up at Neptunes.

yeah those stock tires SUUUCK. its a shame bridgestone makes some super awesome tires(namely the s03 and s02s) but those re40/50 series just doesnt cut it compared to other affordable "ultra high performance" categorized tires.
you see though big meats help but you can get the same traction sticking with a lighter 17 or 18 inch wheel and just sizing up in width to maybe a 8.5 all around or a staggered fitment if you want that look but when you're changing up offsets, wheel diamters and widths between the front and rear wheels you're going to affect the balance of the car, whether you're an experienced enough driver to notice the acute differences these types of things are going to make to your car or even give a **** will depend but they all do affect that balance mazda makes when designing your car. one performance benefit the larger diamter wheels give you is(but this is even subjective) slightly faster and possibly quicker road response due to your decreased sidewall length.
the fact of the matter is that lighter is better, thats where some rx7 and rx8 owners faulter and good honda(yes i said honda) tuners are much smarter in that they are extremely weight consious compared to others. i dont, have never, and will never own and tune a honda but the real enthusiasts make some very tastefully modified cars. they focus a lot on weight reduction and less rotational mass in the wheels so they end up with sub 2000 pound 2nd gen CRX's with crazy light 16's and that 350whp with their basic b series swap is enough to put my big boy FD to shame. when you think about it the sheer power to weight ratio( around 410bhp to 1900 lbs) it becomes a very serious machine.
anwho all of that rambling equates to, in the realm of pure performance keeping your weight to minimum(and therefore wheel diamter less) and width to a maximum(that your fenders allow) and maintaning equal width on the front and rear wheels and tires and keeping the same offsets will give you the best acceleration, braking and handling as an overall package. sure with some 19x8.5/235 and 19x10.5 with 295 setup you will get better grip than a 18x8.5 all around setup with 245's, but with the inbalance between the front and rear wheels is going to affect your handling and the extra rotational mass will affect acceleration(minor but it still will)
but guess what's about to get put on the 8? a 19x8.5/245 and 19x9.5/285 and a 3+ inch lip in dark chrome because it looks cool
im such a hypocrit

[QUOTE=x-ped]Yeah, I love that pic. I actually have 2 other pics from Joe (the guy who took these pics) , one high resolution which I got a poster made from and another one with out the guy with white t-shirt in the pic. [QUOTE]
June, if you still have access to those full version/resolution pics, I would love to see them...email them to me at givetokeith@yahoo.com
any news on your computer, given the problems you had in posting the movie from the last cruise...wow, that was like 3 months ago now wasn't it....still would love to see your editting job though.![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
You talked about downloading the full versions, in full resolution to DVD. I'm still interested if you have time to do that.
