hey guys any help would be welcomed. i need to find a tire shop to do two things. first i need to get a cheap rim and tire to use as a spare when i go out of town. i don't really need one for in town, but long trips are a most. second i need to find a shop that can do a good high speed wheel balance. my wheels start to vibrate at, above speed limit speeds. so gentlemen and guys :D oh and sorry any lady's that might be out there need help.....

I recall you have chromed stock 18's, right? Maybe they didn't do a very good job of balancing them after they were chromed. If you have the TPMS, I'm wondering if you have the same amount of balance weights in your rims as I do. You should have a line of about 10-12 of those things opposite the TPMS. I would take it back to the dealer, and make sure that you indicate that "I am concerned with the safety of the vehicle, as well as my own safety, at higher speeds"....if you insist that they put that on the work order, I'm sure they would figure out how to balance your wheels correctly. I have never had a problem with vibrations even at speeds in excess of 125 mph.

I usually purchase my rims/wheels at Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim, CA. With the puurchase price, they will rotate and re-balance your wheels every 3,000 miles for free. You just have to wait the 45 minutes for them to do it for you though. I think this is well worth the drive down there...it saves tire wear and you never have to worry about whether your wheels are balanced, if your having normal tire wear..etc.

On another issue, I saw a set of RX8 rims in the 16 inch set-up on ebay. That may be a good option for you for your trips...at least you would still have "stock" wheels.....and TPMS. Good luck.

Oh, and I like the avatar...it was cool to see one of my pics being put to good use
