New to the RX8 life in the Bay
Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce my self.
I am in Fremont Area. I just purchased a 2004 RX8. I am totally new to the import scene but not to cars. I started out in the Mustang clubs and bought a few cars and went to Sacramento and raced. I owned a 2001 Mustang GT, traded it for a 2001 Mustang Saleen supercharged then traded that for the 2003 Cobra. I ened up running a 12.5 in the 1/4 mile on street tires.
the care stuff got a bit expensive and my wife convinced me to sell the mustang. I ened up buying the 2004 RX8 down the road. Its a fun little car. I coudn't believe the power this little engine put out. I hope to meet other local enthusiasts in the area to see what mods work and what doesn't so I don't have to go through pain of trial and error alone.
The mustang croud are a bunch of great guys, I hope the RX8 croud are just as cool. I hope to get to know and meet some of you.
Thanks,

that looks like the sycamore commons apartments... nice nordic green, must suck coming from a mustang to a rx8, the torque difference must be crazy but it is way sexier than a mustang.

Hi SlipNslide1.3. I am in Fremont as well. The pictures look like a complex near me at the UC border. I am in the process of getting an RX8 road race car. I currently have a Miata Turbo race car and will be buying the RX8 in a week or two ( hope).
Here is a pic of the new race car.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. yes it's nordic green. clear corners and mazdaspeed bumper are the only visual mods done so far. I'm planning on the next mods being a Borla cat back and k&N intake.
I do have to admit I miss the cobra. I was pushing 492hp, with 525lbs of torque. I have always been a car enthusiast be it american v8 or import. No one understood me at all. You either had to be one or the other. I loved the raw horse power and torque from the Cobra but I have always been fascinated seeing a 4cyl pushing over 400hp. It was always impressive seeing an import beat a mean sounding mustang or camaro. So I will be one of the most unbiassed guys you will meet.
I am in the Fremont area and hope to meet some of you very soon. tonylop33 good luck on your purchase.

My car is at the shop right now. I had a pioneer double din DVD Navigation in my truck that I just got rid of and I took it out of my truck to replace the stock stereo in my 8. Well I guess I should have read more of the forums. Doesn't seem I can replace the stock stereo because the stereo controls the functions to the display bar of the climate controls and things. What a bummer. The are putting the Navigation in the spot where Mazda usually puts the Mazda navigation but had to cut the plastic panel on the dash. They said there are going to modify the dash and add a bit of fiberglass to make it look custom. I hope it turns out nice. I'm kind of nervous.
