Lightbulb NorCal/Bay Area Indoor Skydiving Meet Thread

Hello All,

I just wated to get some exposure to this idea and see how many people are instrested in going. As you all know I like to set up these meets and always want to make sure there is enough time for everyone to schedule and prepare for. I just want to break some of our habits of BS'ing on fridays and eating sushi.

iFly in Union City:

31310 Alvarado Niles Rd
Union City, CA 94587
http://www.iflysfbay.com

The rates are as follows:

$49 per person for 2 minute flight times, $15 for each extra minute. Usually this is for M-F 10-5p, but with a group of 8-12, they can give me this price on the weekends.

Second option:

If we can round up a group of 25+ people and say that we are all "college students" the rates can go down to $20 per person for the 2 mintue flight, $10 for each extra minute.

I have not yet planned a date for this yet, but I was thinking of making it on a Sunday at around 11am, just to dodge traffic for all who comes. I was thinking if the beginning of the year drive doesn't happen on 1/13/08, we can use that date to get all the 8's together and have our first meet of the year for the area there.

I'll let a few post start brewing up to get some interest and if enough people want to go and use that date above, I'll get it all set up. We can also grab some foodage at out sushi place afterwards too. The nice thing about this area, it's right in the middle for everyone and almost all of us has been to the UC meets.

Cheers!

I dunno, it just doesn't seem to be very viable for the money. I'd rather spend $130 and really jump out of a plane. Sure it's more expensive than sitting in a room, but you get a great view.

I'd still go just to hang out with everyone, but I really have no interest in floating in a room for 2 minutes.

I'm with Dick, I'll go and watch (and make fun of) you guys.. but I'd rather really jump out of a plane.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Boston for 2 days... it's supposed to be 34, and 37 degrees for the highs while I'm there... yippee!

Hey, I'd rather go for the real skydiving as well, but it's easier to get people to spend $50 then $200. If you guys can find a skydiving place in the area, we can switch it up to the real thing.
