Just got an email from K&N. I will be getting there new kit free of charge in exchange for my old one. Estimated 2-3 weeks. Haha! Amazing what a little persistant bitching can do. The guy i have been emailing is on top of **** all the way. If I had know this earlier, I would have been more leniant with there broken junk typhoon crap. Ah well, everything will work out in the end. Especially with my B&B midpipe coming TOMOROW!! WOoohhooo.

PS: I Will bring stands and the tools for that exhaust install if you want. I have no problem wth it at all. Let me know!!

Ahh come on.. the fines aren't that bad.. it's only about 400 bucks, plus the impounding fee of about 300. It's small change for that extra 3-4 HP!

Which "Boys" shop are you at...and are you on today, or do you guys have access to the shop at any hours. I am expecting to get off work around 3:00, so depending on which store you're at, I could probably be there before 4:00. It would be so helpful to have a jack stand and/or lift to do this. I went and bought the "non-siezing" agent that Racing Beat recommends, what else should I bring...?

Hey, if we can get this done, I;ll let you have my stock exhaust .

Has anyone noticed the difference with the replacement pads!!!! Before I had them swapped out, i had more break dust on my front rims than any car i've ever seen. With the new pads, I have less dust than any care i've ever seen. Before, after I cleaned them, 50 miles and my rims would be black... I have 300 miles on them now and they are still clean. They are as clean as the rear rims!!! (this is a big deal to me, I like my rims clean!!)

How many miles do you have on your 8 to have replaced the pads already? I have the stock pads still, and you are right, the rims get very black, very quick. The back rims seem to have just a fine coat of dust, where as the fronts look like they are covered in that black junk that you find on the engine of a 20 year old car.

Exciting to know that I don't have to deal with this forever...I wonder how much longer my pads will last....Dont use the brakes much driving freeway, so it may be awhile. I know I had 85,000 miles on my truck before I replaced the pads on that..may be awhile.

You replaced them with Mazda pads? Maybe they are made of a different material..the stock ones must be really soft....

HOLY ****, you managed 85K miles on your front pads... I'm glad I was never in front of you on the freeway!

There was a recall on the factory breaks, here is the TSB.

If you take it to the dealer they will replace the pads for free. And the best part is...they don't squeal anymore!

I had 7000K miles on my stock pads.

Interesting...I have had no problems with my brakes, other than the rediculous amount of black junk to clean off every week. No squeal that I've noticed, other than right after a car wash and I attributed it to water on the brake rotor...

But a free brake job can't be all that bad .

any bets on who it may be....my money is on Mikeb .

Wow I did't know there was a recall for the brakes. I'm sure happy now that you posted this message because I have that damn squeal noise. Made me feel like I did't take good care of my car.

I went to install the exhaust when I got home, but there is no way to do this with just jack stands. After about an hour of trying to get under the damn car, I gave up and went down to Midas and had it done. It took two guys 23 minutes to take the stock off and put the Racing Beat exhaust on. They had nothing but nice things to say about the setup. They were impressed with the ease at which it went on, as well as the alignment with the exhaust shroud openings and such.

sohcpunk...if you are serious about the exhaust, I'll have to coordinate with you tonight because I had no way of taking the stock exhaust with me when I left...there was no way of fitting in my trunk. If you want, maybe I could cal them and have them set the exhaust out for you, and I won't pick it up....let me know tonight....

keith

Now, if you are not serious, and are just pulling my leg.....leg pulled.
