Oceanside Rexxing, New to the Boards
Just got my Rex not too long ago and was told about these boards. Anybody in the north county area doing any meets or know of any fun drives in the area? I'm looking to start putting some money into my 8 and having some real fun with it. Thinking about checking out the Qualcomm track thing as well. Anybody have any experience down there? Thanks. -Mike

Well you came to the right site.. qualcomm thing sounds cool. friday nights is race legal (1/8th mile drag strip) and they also have autox there, not sure when they have that. A very popular fun drive is the palomar mountain run. also you got the highway 67 drive and the windy 78 that goes to ramona. as far as meets go, the only on i am aware of is the one they have at in n out in san marcos friday nights. me and a couple buddies are trying to start a meet here in north county and set up some time for a palomar run. let me know if you would be interested.

Yeah man, that would be awesome. Oddly enough, I've been here in southern cal for about 6 years but really haven't gotten around to too many places. I have no idea where that Palomar Mountain run is. I'd be game to drive any time. Thanks for the reply.

It's a bit further south, but you are welcome to join those of us 8s who go to the Point Loma lunch time meet. There is a group from Oceanside and Vista with 7s who come down. The next one is this Saturday.
Here are the details http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=956685
It says to meet at the sports bar, but it has since closed. Follow the Liberty Station signs to the Ace Hardware. We gather in the parking lot there and then have lunch. It's a good group, all rotorjunkies.
Hope to see you there.

Hey guys,
just wanted to add that I HAD a group of 8's that I'd run around with in Oceanside/San Clemente, but since I've left for deployment and they've fallen off the face of the Earth, I'd love to start up a meet or at least a group around Camp Pendleton again when I get back in 2 months.
I'll think of some fancy name for it and a cool place to hang out/drive.
In the mean time, anyone interested?
I'm also looking for some nicely modded 8's to join me in entering HIN's car show in Long Beach on October 15th. Look for the post

Just found out about a meet Wednesdays at Noon at the Johnny Rockets on the Camp Pendleton base.
It's set up by the local 7s guys there who are military, but civilians can enter for a limited number of times per month....see linky below, for the details.
P.S. > They really want some 8s to show up!!!!

Another thing coming up for local rotorheads is a scenic cruise. Route TBA but typically we meet at the park n drive in La Mesa and head east then north and end around the 15 freeway in scripps ranch/poway. We break for lunch along the way, around Julian or Ramona.
