lol.... i still love my 8. don't get me wrong. ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
but, hey "a lighter car is a faster car!" ---> not true according to the video we watched. the extra 10lbs on the roof of that subi did better time.

Features and safety does match the 8's. Evo's are notorious for having bad side impact, but with the X now you'll be wrapped in a airbag bubble if they go off. haha. The technological features for entertainment, keyless entry, etc... all make for extra weight imo, but it sure does make it comfy. =), I was very skeptical about the new X, but it sure is a beast. An untuned X with a boost controller already adds 50whp...I'd like to see it tuned but ecutek for it just came out. I just wonder if they made the X as mod-able as the 8 or 9 in terms of stripping everything out and turning it into a full blown race build. The hype was there, now let's just see if it lives up to it. So far it has been, but it hasn't been around long enough. The backseat in my IX are bigger than the X's. I'm supposing they made the body wider for that widebody look. Yet I still find it hard to tell whether a Lancer is an Evo or just a Lancer. Lol.
Addendum: You can go a hell of a lot wider on tires with the X btw. That sort of answers my aforementioned thought.

yah- that's the #1 problem with most sport edition cars- ie the M3, M5, S4 etc. etc. the overall body styling is the same or similar to their normal counterparts- unless you notice the subtle differences. but, w/ the RX-8, doesn't matter what trim level the car is, they all have the same engine. ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Well it's a great thing that there is no base trim that's totally abased from the pinnacle counterpart for the 8. I honestly need more than a glimpse for the evo. An rx8 is very easy to spot and great to look at. As with the upside, the downside of the popo blows. ahah. BTW, can any of you see my sig? I opened up my I.E. and I had to right click it and "show picture". Damn it, I like that sig. I honestly do not know what movie that is from. Maybe Kelvin knows, but he's busy at school again. I just got it from one of the OG socalevo members, lol.

need some opinions....
place ur polls guys,
in the aftermarket (wrong section, shoulda been in tech garage for DIY) mods section, i put up a poll for some opinions on a styrene insert i jimmyrigged with the same dimensions into the stock intake tube to block off the ripples on the stock piece.
i found that to be a cheap mod alternative to buying a whole aluminum intake pipe, have it cut, and 2 sections joined from a 3.5 to 3 inch along with those 3 vacuum tubes welded to a pipe.
and trust me, i asked around for the estimated cost and it was just as much as getting an intake tube... but not keeping those stock dimensions.
honestly, for something like that it doesn't cost over $1! its stealth, and its like having an intake w/o having an intake
i know doing that was a waste of a few minutes of my time to save some cash... but the thing is that its totally reversible. it doesn't mess with anything, and though difference is hard to feel... but the functionality seems to be there.
so help me out guys, i just wanted to gauge some of ur opinions. and be honest... my feelings won't get hurt. that stupid thing is not even a buck, and i was curious and playing around with stuff.
thanks,
see y'all saturday

I'm up for anything stealth so +1 for that. The fact that you can go back to that form(like you'd need to, psh) is another +1. Practicality +1. Ease +1. The biggest point of all is getting popped.
I need to get rid of my loud *** exhaust some day, I was under the tunnel at the stoplight on Baldwin getting on the 210. Opposite direction was the popo and we all we're stopped. As soon as I hit 1700-1900rpm, my whole car and whoever else's car was vibrating nasty from the reverberations. Good thing I was getting on the freeway or I for sure would've had a 200 dollar ticket.
