eww those photos suck...
photomatix/ (fake hdr) is becoming the most played out look on the 'net now. Those pics have horrible dynamic range btw and the same look can be achieved with the shadow/highlight tool in photoshop. Just drag the sliders all the way until the car looks fake, and wallah!

I never claimed to have great pics, - I think I'm decent, but certainly not a professional. But honestly, those pictures are a disgrace to the cars in them...
What was ever wrong with "normal" pictures?

ok, i am a total amateur when it comes to photography, all im trying to do is have a little fun while learning more about how cameras work. i only take pics at these meets to give people a picture of their car that they might never have seen because they only take "normal" pictures. I enjoy taking these pictures and apparently many people on this forum enjoy me posting these photos of their cars to use as maybe a computer desktop wallpaper or something.
This is a place on the forums for rx8 enthusiasts to discuss meeting each other and finding something to do on an utterly quiet friday night for some of us. I'm only a part of this to have a bit of fun and meet other people and I really have no desire to be told that my photos suck by someone who has no interest in even taking photographs at our meets for the enjoyment of other rx8 enthusiasts.
Now I totally appreciate your utterly rude comments and I'll remind myself never to take pictures of your car in the future.
Thank you
Oh, and if you would like me to remove the picture of the white 8, I will be glad to do so, since it obviously offends you to see that.

your wording was all wrong. to come into someone's thread and basically crap on something that they had done is very offensive. i understand that your point was 'meh, i'm not into the HDR thing, it's too played out now. can you show us the unedited photos also?'. but how would you have felt had someone left you comments on your flickr photos about how you need some talent, and your photos are a disgrace to that site? not too good, and probably like they were attacking you. kindness is the key to get your point across

I honestly enjoy criticism of my photos, since it is a hobby of mine and I'm always looking to improve. If I post pictures of someone's car at a meet and they don't like it, I'll gladly take it down.
BTW, this isn't his thread, it's the irvine/oc meet discussion one.

I didn't intend to offend anyone, just giving my honest opinion since I was surprised people actually liked those photos... if anyone was offended, I apologize.

its all good, apology accepted. I'm only in this for the fun and I've said before that I've just been experimenting. The camera isn't even mine, its actually my father's so i really have very little knowledge of cameras since I only own a simple sony point and click. I go to school full time as well as work so time has been an issue and I want to take some photography classes to get better but its just been really hectic trying to make time for these things. I know for a fact that my HDR images are really not very good but its kind of cool to see my car look so different in a photo than it does in real life. I really want to take some photos in daylight in HDR because I think it would look really good but since I work full time now for the summer, everytime I get a chance to take photos its usually at night and I've found it rather difficult start photography with only night shots. Eventually, I hope to improve and make the pictures a bit more subtle but for now, I'm having a bit of fun tweaking setting to make the pictures look really different.

Guys, I know this guy and he's just having some trolling fun. He may seem like a douche but really, he's no more harmful than a kitten with a ball of yarn. Give the doggy his bone:
yessss alexisthemovie - HDR is worse than communism, VTEC is greater than God, and you are right with everything you say.
See guys, problem solved.
I want to try out my photography skills at the next meet, when is it :D
