drove it about a block 4 times!!!!! lol........ but you have to admit, she was driving like a raped ape!! now wasnt she!! the fuel gyser was just the fire works show after the game! and the pushing thing...... of coarse the heaviest guy had to be the steerer!! lol..... thats just my luck lately though!!
maybe one of these days ill be able to get in my car, start it up, drive wherever i want, and not have to worry that shes going to blow up on me! oh wait, i have an rx7....... nevermind, hopefully i wont have to do TOO MUCH to the car during that drive to wherever i want to go

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know about a cruise that has been scheduled for tomorrow (4/24). Quite a drive for those of us from the IE...but it should be well worth it. Its tomorrow and the meet location is in Calabasas off the 101 fwy and Las Virgenes at the Mobil gas station. Cruise will go through the Mailbu area and out to PCH for lunch. Would love to meet some of you for breakfast if anyone is interested in going. Tomorrow at 9:30 in Malabu/Calabasas area. It will probably take at least an houur to get there, so maybe breakfast at 730. The thread is called Malibu cruise. Anyone interested....?

Hmm...Just got my 8
Work near the meeting spot...
Short Asian guy at the age of 19...
Don't know much about cars (or the rotary)....

Should I try and go to these monthly gathering?

Afraid of being laughed out of town... especially since my knowledge about cars is rather pathetic...
And the fact that I’m relatively knew to driving a stick.

Nah these guys are really cool. I'm nowhere near as automotivly inclined as them but they still make me feel like one of the guys. It'd be a great idea for you to ride along, you'll get more knowledgable about your car and have a good time.

And plan on going on the cruise..take it from me, it is the best experience you will have with your 8. I know I was worried at the first event, and the first one I went to was really big. I think we had 16 cars that week and we went on an aggressive drive. I was nervious about driving too fast, or pushing my car too hard. Once you get over that initial anxiety, you will finally realize what you car can do. Its almost like an addiction for me now...I have to come every month and I count down the days and start looking at weather reports as the day nears.

You are near the meeting spot....I would invite you to the pre-meet, but it sounds like you may be a little bit away. Some of us in the Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga area meet at Farmer Boys for breakfast. Last time, we stopped on the way down from Big Bear to get some food at Shakeys.

So...make sure you fill up on gas before you roll in...show up with your digital camera (or good ole fashion like mine), and keep some time open in your schedule for the cruise and lunch afterwards. The maybe some time for a car wash if you still have energy.

What color 8 did you get? Any upgrades or ideas on things you would like to do? I know I started to get my first ideas after seeing/hearing about what others have done. You'll get plenty of ideas. We seem to have a diverse collection of cars and tastes...but we all have a great time.

Hope to see you there at our next meet. I think it is the 14th of May.

Nice post Kwescott, brought a tear to my eye!

Redbaron gave me a call the othger day. the engine did in fact let go. when he pulled the turbo off there was a corner seal still stuck in the turbo. the rear rotor has Zero compression. he will be flying up to Pinapple racing when the engine is torn apart to make sure no foul play is at hand. as for the next meet, i think he will bring the 8 if he comes at all. (obviously not the 7)

Vipers car is painted flat black for now, i dont think he ever mentioned that. he STILL has the fuel problem, but i am sure he will get it fixed by yhe next week. if i know vipers as well as i think i as do, there is no way he can show up to another meet without his car. i also know Zero will be there to, it killed him not to make it to the last meet.

anyways, i look forward to the next meet, bad news (for me) is i have not done anything new and exciting to my car since the last run. :-( all well, mabe ill get something else done for the next meet after this one.

Talk to you all later! :D :D

Maybe I will drop by...That is if I do not have any Homework or a Test that is coming up.

The meet starts at like 9 am and ends at like 2 or 3 pm?

as long as it ends at 3 pm ill be perfectly fine, cause i work on Saturdays and if were still in the San Bernardino area I’ll make it to work on time.

I work right off the 30 freeway before the 330 that goes up to Big Bear.

My 8 is a fully loaded stock 2005, in TiGray minus the cargo net.

I hope to one day put a turbo in the car when warranty runs out and when Turbos become more reliable on the 8. Or if they put out a new Turbo rotary that I can easily drop in.

I want to go to the next meeting, but are you guys gonna give me sh*t for having a AT? As much as I wanted the stick I'm in too much traffic. Got so sick of it with my last MT car that I went to the darkside I know. If we're MT/AT cool it definately looks like a blast and I'll be there.

There's another AT in the group already, so you don't have to worry about getting any negative comments, it is a good group of guys.

On another note..a Malibu cruise update...we may be looking at the 21st of May as the next meet. Put it on your calendars and check in on that thread. He's trying to get a head count, or some suggestions on meet dates. The 7th of May is Mazfest, and the 14th is our next meet. So I suggested the 21st. He is anxious to have another meet sooner, but if we can give him a headcount for the 21st, maybe he'll be patient.

AT's are fine! its still a rotary right? :D
its not a "whos car is better" contest. thats called a car show. this is a rotary meet. its more of a "hey we have rotors, and those guys have those piston thingys" :D :D :D

i keep hearing rumors about another seven stock, (even heard some of the rumors from the guy that puts it on) but nothing official yet, i sure hope they have another one, i think it would be cool for the San Bernardino meet crew to all com rolling in at once. you all would get to see my race car then. :-)
anyways, just wanted to blab for a sec.
later! :D
