Yeah, I kept hearing all this talk on this forum about how good RB was, blah, blah, blah... Finally decided to get it and I don't regret it for one second! It's a great mod! That intake and exhaust is music to my ears...
Speaking of intakes...
Casey:Not sure if you heard the announcer on Saturday. After your second run, he said, "Wow, that sure is a sweet sound coming out of that yellow RX-8".

sweet! no I didnt hear that.
I did hear after one of my early runs, when I came in and I was getting my time, the anouncer said "man that was fast! that must be Jason Isley driving that car."............. SWEEEET! no no , That was Casey Brier!
I was comming back from Big Bear today, and I see a black RX-8 on it's roof up against the side of a mountain. a blue RX-8 right in front of it, and a red one in front of that.
I didnt see any other cars involved (could have missed them though) it seems like it was a single car accident. my guess, the driver was pushing it a little to hard and lost controll. I almost stoped to talk to the guy in the red one, but I was in my county vehicle and decided I should just keep going. also kicking myself for not taking a picture with my camers phone.

not I..... I dont mind people that know how to drive carefully on the street. belive it or not, I drive rather slow when we are not on out meet. I drive most of my friends nuts, because I accually have patiance (spelling) and know how to drive 65-70 on the freeway. (73 is my cruise controll speed)
more or less, I like to get up to the speed limit as fast as I can, but I am pretty good about not going over the speed limit.

yah, it does make you think twice about how you drive. Loren, Jorge and Erica know exactly what I'm talking about. Specifically with the Malibu cruise....on the drive home you question what you did, how hard you drove your car, and question whether you were smart about the whole thing.
I think this is one reason Jill no longer shows up. She had one close scare that made her realize why she has the car, and what she should be doing with it. I beleive her last comment (don't know who told this to us, but ti was at one of our last meets), was that she is now spending a lot of time with her Corvette group, going on rides for charity, not for thrills anymore.
I remember when the Malibu cruise thread started up, there were many who were posting words of advice, along with pics and links to threads of mishaps and crashes, some resulting in death. It does scare you, and makes you second guess things a bit.
I think the autocross is a good way to get our adrenaline fix, and get togethers like the one we just had for the Patriot loss make the car scene worth every minute.

Well, the one good thing you can look foward to is the Steelers CRUSHING those damn Broncos this Sunday.
(buddy of mine is a lifelong / diehard Steelers fan and I was talking to him earlier...can you tell?)

If the volume **** was black, that'd be sweet. I don't like how it stands out so much
And yeah... After my accident I learned my lesson. ^^
Better to learn while fresh I guess?

I am going to get in and I see that Jill is still out there with her 8 becuase she is getting one as well. If I dont like it I guess I can always sell it to another member. (I find it easier buying the cheaper mods then the more expensive mods....)

yeah, i understand about being a little nervous while driving........ but when me and casey started this whole meetup, we said we would not do anything to endanger anyones lives..... but then found that to be out of our control.........
we emphisize safety, but as soon as you get into your car, its out of our hands....... now we've been very lucky on our meets, a few spin outs and one accident...... and i personally trust 95% of the people that show up....... when we go on our runs, its for a little fun "spirited driving".... we do not want anyone to go to their limits on our runs....there is just too much to lose! ....
we will definently keep the runs as part of our meets, just becuase thats what makes them so fun, but for the few of you that think your better than the road or feel you need to push your car to its very limits on our runs, just remember that your not only endangering yourself, your putting all of us at risk! so keep it fun!

Where is everyone today?
The whole forum kinnda seems a bit slow. So slow in fact that I was reduced to replying to someone's thread in RUSSIAN!
Vipers: Forgot to say CONGRATS on that new turbo. that thing looks awesome, can't wait to see / hear / sit in your car when it's installed.
Any possible time frame for that?

its funny, i went into this project w/ a hp goal of 300rwhp and a budget of $2500-$3000....... and its escalated to 450rwhp and around $5500-6500.... the main reason i changed my mind was because at first i wasnt going to buy a engine management system, which limited me on what i could do, so 300rwhp was the most i could get out of my car w/ the stock ecu... then i got a deal on a microtech for $1020, and then everything just blew up from there

haha, funny how easily it can be to blow a budge like that...especially when it's on a car.
*looks over at pretty orange car on my calendar*
Hope you're able to get those $4,000 soon. Although, if you do...my poor car won't stand a chance up against yours.

_well i may have more then just that GB as my new mod for next month.....i swear once you start moddiggn you seem to do a few in a row.
_Oh and i think vipers car could beat us easily as i was doubtful for a while until keith put me straight...then again if the race is too long his car might "cough cough" and you would win.
_the thread always seem to die after picture posting from our last meet is fizzled out. dont worry the malibu thread should get busy in a week or so.
