I found out where the name came from now...
"The RX-2 was Mazda's first true rotary passenger car. Released in Japan on the 13th of May 1970 as the R612, a designation combining the rotary 12A and the piston 1600. Two weeks later Mazda strangely changed its direction from the R100, 110S and the R130 theme to rename its rotary version the RX-2. The Cappella name was taken from a star. This led to marketing slogans such as the "star of the Highways". Capella is also the name off an African Antelope, which is represented in the badges. "

oh no Xrider, you opened up a can of worms with that question. It's been debated since the day that this forum launched. I've done quite a bit of research on the subject and there are a few different theories:
1) What ReDrifter put
2) Rotary Xport (taken from a diary of an old Mazda Exec)
3) Rotary Xperiment
4) I forget the last theory...
There's a few threads on this and it's like the chicken vs the egg argument. Most popular theories are #2 and #3. (I lean towards #2)

Attention RAZZ
Razz, here's some pictures of the OEM bumper that I would like to get fixed. Here's two shots from the outside, and then one from the inside of the bumper. Let me know what your nephew thinks.
Thanks man.

ummm....how about $60 for the four? you'll need to get some doublesided 3m tape on your own though. also, the strakes come w/a screw in the middle so they are actually tightened directly onto the vent. the purpose of the 3m tape is so that it doesn't twist around or anything

. but i'm sure that casey, keith or anybody else will be willing to help you get those put on

Yes, the flywheel install took us about 8 hours I would estimate, spread over two days since we started late on Saturday, and had to stop at 3:30. The following morning, we started around 9:30, was delayed by the need for the purchase of new transmission bolts and lock-tite, but was doen with everything, with semi-grins on our face by lunch...
We have three more 8's to do...with a few getting new pulleys as well. Should be an interesting couple of upcoming weekends.
On a side note, my fricken fingers are killing right now.
I have to say, it is nice to have a group of people that can share their knowledge of cars...and enjoy working outside under the EZ up.
RX8 Cup is quickly approaching.
