Date: Saturday August 5th.
Time: _____A.M. (early, will post more when I know exactly.)
Location: Caravan meeting location will be at _________
What to bring: full tank of gas, and a little lunch money. (if you want to eat)

Who is Comming:
Speeddemon32 / MeShell
KWescott
Snowfl8k (you bringing one car or two?)

Ok we need to get some more info and some set times.

Kwescott, sonce you know more about the time required and stuiff like that what do you recomend for a meeting location and a time to meet, and a time to LEAVE.

August 5th 8:30
Beryl Park

To get to the park:

210 freeway, west of the 15....exit (oh man, I can't remember...Krazie/Lesper, you help us out on this one). EDIT: exit Carnelian....the park is north of the freeway exit

We will be leaving at 8:45 promptly, and continuing West on the 210 to Malibu.

Hmmm. I wanna go! Although, I be somewhere in the back hoping to not get lost. Is the drive really that hard? In comparison to the few I've done? Wonder if I can find a last minute sitter. By the way my car wouldn't start yesterday but at least we were able to jump it to life. I drove it to the Chino roller rink and back yesterday so hopefully it works good today. I put the jumpers in my trunk just in case.

Zoo....you must come to this meet. The drive is what you make it. It is similar to our Crestline or Big Bear Run.....just near the beach, and a little longer. Lots of things to look at, lots of great cars, some exotics...and you end up seeing a lot of other car clubs cruising around. Make sure the hubby comes.

...oh, and there are many calendar photo opportunities...so bring your camera.

I was told that some of you guys have after market rotors. If so I would appreciate any feedback and pricing information. I will not be tracking my car and I'm sick of looking at the rusty hubs and was told that painting them is a temporary fix only. If you purchased them at a local outfit please list the name and # if possible. Appreciate your guys feedback.

ok, so these are long over due----July Meet

Speed gave me some pics to post from our most recent meet....you remember, the one you didn't come to . Michael had his new mod that he wanted to show...Jedi had some new mods (didn't show) as well as Lesper (didn't show).....so there is much to see at the next meet....which is August 5th and will be a cruise to Malibu, then a vigorous romp around the Malibu Canyons and lunch at Neptunes Net

I bought mine from R1Concepts.com. They are in Anaheim. They use to sell RX-8 rotors on ebay, but they don't list them anymore on ebay.
I checked their website and they don't list it there either. I paid about $230 for all 4 drilled/slotted. Here's some pics on my thread for my car.

Post #13 has the newer rotors.

You can probably go with any set on eBay. They don't really vary that much in quality. Just pick a seller that has good feedback. There is a good selection to choose from as far as appearance.

Also, I didn't do this, but it's recommended.

If you buy a new set, on the face of the rotor where the pads make contact, there is a ring (about 1/2 inch) nearest to the center hub, that the pads do not cover.
This ring tends to get rust on it anyways. Check you OEM rotors and I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about.
Anyways, you should use some kind of coating on that section. You can use clear brake rotor paint. If you overspray a little onto the face, it won't really matter since the brakes will rub it off anyways.

If you're installing these yourself, you may need a special impact screwdriver to remove the front rotors. Let me know if you're doing it. It's not that expensive to buy, or if you're local, you can borrow mine.

BTW - Speeddemon32 also has aftermarker rotors drilled/slotted, but they were a gift and he doesn't know where they came from. I already asked when I was shopping for mine.

August Meet -
I will be going to the Malibu meet next week.
Hopefully both my new mods will be done.
And of course, Stickypod mounted.

New mods -
Bought the Racing Beat AC/Oil screens. Painted them black, and will try to install them this Sunday. (FYI - Keith )

Today I ordered my new exhaust. I'm very excited about it!
I did not order the Racing Beat exhaust as I had planned.
It's coming UPS ground, so I'm not sure if I'll get it before the 5th. If I do, I'll probably be up late Friday night putting the new exhaust on. (FYI - Keith )

well, what i would recommend is when purchasing the rotors, make sure they offer a zinc coating.... zinc coating will never rust, so your rotors always look clean... most rotor companies offer this coating...and its only like $40 more
