r_e_d_r_u_m lost control in the canyons during a sharp turn.... went up on a small dirt mound, and was teeder- toddering on it!! whats really freaky is on the other side of the mound was a cliff.......so he was teedering on a cliff.....wish we had taken pics, but we were more worried about getting it off the edge of the world in the end.....there was very little cosmetic damage, and he was able to drive it home and wash off most of the damage! (and change his huggies)

anyone in San Bernardino interested in cruising to Malibu tomorrow morning (6/18/05). I keep bringing this event up knowing full well of the distance involved...but it is well worith it. This will be my third month making the trip. I will be leaving no later than 8:10 to get there on time. Meet time is 9:30. If anyone is interested, let me know and we can meet at Cherry and the 210 freeway.

Usually drive from 10:00-12:00, eat lunch, and than make the 30 minute drive back through the canyons back to the freeway. You would be back in San Berdoo by 230.

Just got back. Only 4 showed up this time to Malibu, but it was still an awsome drive. RX8squared showed up with his Shinka. I think he enjoyed the cruise. We may lose him if we cant show him a good cruise on our next meet. I would suggest Big Bear, even though I would love to go, but I will not be around until August.

Check the Malibu thread....maybe by tomorrow our video's will be up. I wanted to post some of my picks, but I cant find my UUSB cable. I think Erica may have left it in her truck, and she is gone for the night. So maybe I'll get to posting some of my pics by tomorrow. Father's day and all, I don't know what time I'll get around to it though.

Talking Now hear this..............

Just picked up my RX8 from the body shop - and it looks PERFECT. In fact, maybe a little better with the new drilled/slotted rotors, repainted calipers, carbon fiber dash pod and the RX8 center caps for my wheels.

Painted the front support brace flat black this time, and it just disappears - like the M/S brackets for the fog lights. Always, ALWAYS bugged me that you could see it.

Can't say enough good things about Peter and the guys at Auto Werks = took my injured 8 and made it like new.....

Going for a nice ride tonight to celebrate!

P.S. Never, and I mean, NEVER make an appointment to take your car to the body shop before a club drive - sort of a jinx, if you know what I mean.

Glad to hear things turned out well, and especially that youu could take advantage of the negative to do some additional changes...especially that change to the support brace. I can imagine that no one will be able to tell the difference in our kits now. You and Casey are gonna make me go out and buy new rotors..damn you guys for feeding my need to spend money on my car

I know what you mean about the appointment issue. I had a similar thing happen to me, but for me, it occur on the drive home when I got hit in a parking lot...ugggh.

On another note, got my pics from the Malibu cruise up. There should be two or so video's up soon. I'll post the thread. Should be fun. We had two cameras filming. One on the lead camera facing backwards, and another on the last car filming forwards. I'm interested to see how the two get put together. Even more anxious to see my car in action .

Here's the link to the thread I put in the Multimedia section

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/malibu-california-6-20-05-cruise-pics-64485/

Enjoy.

I'm gonna leave it up for awhile and then "count" the votes. I think at this point, I would go staggered if getting the Gt7's, and would stay same size with the J8's. There is still an outside possibility..due to cost, that I may go with Axis Heros in Anthracite given another members accessibility to Axis wheels and the price he can get them for. I guess this is another good reason to go to different meets and start to establish different connections.

Looks like you guys have a lot of fun out there!

I am a noobie here. Just bought my eight this weekend (white-water pearl) and live here in the IE. I would love to meet up with some other eight owners.

Are there any lady-haters in the house? It sounds like the rotary world is male dominated. Anyone opposed to allowing a female in on some of your fun? :D

If its cool - please let me know when you plan to meet next. Need to see what this baby can do! :p

No - definitely NO lady haters at this meet - I'm female, past 40 (was shifting into 3rd at 5000 rpm at the time) and these guys are great. Many of them bring their ladies with them. It's a fun group - good drives - good times.

This is by far my favorite thread.

Most threads on the forum, you can read the title and get an idea of what the discussion will be about. Everytime I open this thread, it's just a big group of people having random conversations. Unless it's close to the next meet, which the conversation turns more to planning the meet.

That said, here's one more "Off Topic" post.

Anyone interested in going to the San Gabriel Valley Meet this Saturday, July 2nd?
It's only about 20 mins west of the 57fwy near the 210fwy.
https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...50&postcount=9
It's one of the closest of the SoCal RX Club Monthly Meets.

We decided to schedule our meets on the 2nd Saturday of every month so people could attend the SoCal RX Club Monthly Meets. Anyways, thought it'd be cool for a few of us to caravan to this.

Don't cha mean caravan????

I usually go to the SFValley Meet - because that's where world-famous BERNY HERRERA usually shows up!
